    The Walmart Corporate Global Audit Services Internship is a highly visible 10-week program designed to provide experiential learning and development opportunities for undergraduates. All internships are located at the Walmart Corporate office in Bentonville, Arkansas.

    As an intern, you will have an opportunity to work on challenging and innovative projects that will drive our business forward. Each intern will work on one or multiple strategically relevant projects that impact not only our business, but our customers. You will put classroom theory to the test by working on real business issues, as they relate to finance, accounting and business processes at the world’s largest retailer.

    Throughout your internship, you will receive leadership development, professional mentorship and technical training via cohort-based learning environments. The Audit interns also have exclusive exposure to the CFO and Senior Finance Leadership through the Finance Leadership Speaker series. In addition, you will gain valuable insight into all aspects of the Audit department, through direct interaction with current associates, and have an opportunity to see their career paths first-hand.

    There are many events for all interns company-wide which are sponsored by the Corporate Intern Program, i.e. Executive Speaker Series, Community Volunteering, Intern/Executive Softball Game, Distribution Center tour, and Naturals Baseball game. These events allow you to learn more about Walmart and socialize with interns from across the company.

    Within Global Audit Services, it is expected that you participate in the full life cycle of an audit project. You will be given specific project responsibilities, which range from planning the audit engagement to writing the audit report. Through the audit project, you will develop a thorough understanding of how to evaluate and control risk. We are searching for exceptional leader-potential students, to not only participate in the internship, but who also have an interest in a full-time position in the exclusive two-year Accounting & Finance Development Program (AFDP), upon graduation. Each year, only 14 candidates are selected for the AFDP Program, to launch their career in an accelerated development program that places them on a career fast track at the world’s largest retailer. Program participants also have the opportunity to be selected for an in-market international rotation. Opportunities also exist for rotations at our Global eCommerce complex in Silicon Valley.

    The Internship
    The opportunity begins with the internship. During the fast-paced 10-week internship, opportunities will exist to work on challenging and innovative strategically-relevant projects that will drive our business forward, and impact not only the business, but our customers. Through hands-on experience, you’ll learn how to immediately navigate and own a project, while working in a dynamic team environment. Accounting and finance experience can be gained through an internship on a team in Strategy, Operations, Merchandising, Treasury, Tax, Controller’s Office, Supply Chain, Marketing, Real Estate and Forecasting, Planning & Analysis (FP&A).

    The Experience
    There is no substitute for feet-on-the-ground experience. You will experience culture-in-action by participating in the Walmart Annual Shareholders’ Meeting and other events with Walmart associates from around the world. You’ll also benefit from leadership development, professional mentorship and technical training. Finance and accounting interns also have exclusive exposure to the Senior Walmart Leaders, including CEO/CFO-level executives. One highlight of the summer is the intern lunch hosted by the CFO.
