Position: Staff Data Scientist

Job Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086

Duties: Process complicated and large-scale datasets using distributed computing platforms, workflow management platforms, and cloud computing platforms. Design and develop end-to-end scalable and robust solutions and services based on cutting-edge machine learning and deep learning models, with various applications in marketing, such as customer targeting and personalized recommendation. Conduct research to stay up to date on the latest trends in deep learning and AI, especially LLM and recommendation systems. Apply this knowledge in designing and developing innovative solutions. Run large-scale statistical A/B testing to evaluate the performance of machine learning and statistical models in marketing applications. Build compelling data visualizations and interactive dashboards for monitoring and sharing business insights internally and externally. Work closely with business stakeholders and product managers to gather qualitative business/product requirements and convert them to quantitative requirements. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years of experience in an analytics related field; OR Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 4 years of experience in an analytics related field.

Skills required: Experience with sourcing, cleaning, manipulating, and analyzing large volumes of data using distributed computing platforms, workflow management platforms, and cloud computing platforms, including Python, SQL, Spark, Hive, Presto, Airflow, and AWS. Experience writing clean, efficient, and reusable code using related open-source machine learning and deep learning libraries and frameworks, including pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, PyTorch-lightning, transformers, and Onnx. Experience implementing and deploying modern data analysis and modeling techniques, including A/B testing, Causal Inference, Machine Learning (SVM, Naïve Bayes, Random Forest, XGBoost, Clustering, and Ensemble), and Deep Learning (RNN, LSTM/GRU, CNN, Transfer Learning, Natural Language Processing and Understanding, and Prompt Engineering). Experience with distributed version control Git and containers Docker and Kubernetes. Experience coding in object-oriented languages including Python and R. Employer will accept any amount of graduate coursework, graduate research experience or professional experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $168,154/year to $286,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
