Position: Data Scientist III

Job Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086

Duties: Solve natural language processing (NLP) challenges within Walmart's various business sectors, enabling seamless communication and efficient problem-solving. Design, develop and present cutting-edge machine learning and deep learning models to address Walmart's specific problems, collaborating closely with business partners to ensure optimal outcomes. Continuously refine and enhance text-based advertisements. Improve the overall performance of Walmart's item pages through data driven analysis and statistical tests.

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field; OR Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years of experience in analytics or related field.

Skills required: Experience coding in an object-oriented programming language Python. Experience designing and implementing deep Learning models using Python frameworks. Experience with Natural Language Processing techniques and algorithms. Experience developing and training Machine Learning models for various applications and evaluation. Experience with database system and proficiency in relational databases including SQL and MYSQL. Experience conducting and interpreting statistical tests to validate model performance. Experience visualizing complex datasets and model outputs using a variety of visualization libraries and tools including Matplotlib and Seaborn (Data Visualization). Employer will accept any amount of graduate coursework, graduate research experience or professional experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $138,911/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
