Position: Director - Group Product Management
Job Location: 702 SW 8th Street, Bentonville, AR 72712
Duties: Directs product initiatives by ensuring critical business issues, country needs, and core product strategies are addressed in product decisions; ensuring product scorecards are completed; driving process changes based on feedback; driving resource allocation decisions; and setting the standard for Product Manager deliverables. Ensures the delivery of the product area portfolio by overseeing the development of product specifications, product road maps, and other product management deliverables; and managing and communicating trade-off decisions to product management leadership. Leads the formulation of product vision and strategy for a single product area by researching and recommending new products, tools, and applications; supporting Product Managers to uncover latent customer needs, competitive threats, and emerging trends through research; working with Product Managers to develop clear and complete business case presentations for senior management; balancing scope of development projects to make the most efficient use of resources; and ensuring that Product Managers use accurate and robust financial modeling and scenario analysis for major initiatives. Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning. Supervises 6 – Manager II, Advanced Analytics (2); Manager I, Product Management (3); Manager II, Product Management (1).
Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or the equivalent in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and 4 years of experience in product management or related experience OR Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and 7 years of experience in product management or related experience.
Skills required: Must have experience with: product and feature analytics, data tools, techniques, approaches, best practices, and procedures for value generation through insights; customer and stakeholder management to identify business problems / customer needs to enable decision-making and coaching team members; Data Product & Roadmap techniques and practices to ensure communication, management, and delivery; Data Product Vision & Strategy approaches to formulate solutions, determine, and manage the product Strategy across multiple domains, customer segments, and needs; technology orientation including architecture, schemas, and structure of enterprise data & analytics systems, technologies, services, and architectures to ensure delivery of quality deliverables; providing overall direction in identification, analysis, development, communication, development and delivery of business/ customer needs; Data Systems and Technologies approaches and best practices; Data Analytics and visualization technologies to deliver visualizations and analytics for insights; Data Governance, Data Product, and Data Strategy for enabling strategic management of Data as an asset; Understanding retail, data, analytics and governance domains and departments, including functional needs to help bridge business/stakeholders needs to data ecosystems.
