Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Indirect Tax Manager (VAT/GST) to join our dynamic global tax team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in providing indirect tax advisory support to various business units and ensuring compliance with VAT, GST, and other indirect tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions. This role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and effective communication of complex tax issues to non-tax professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Advisory & Analysis: Serve as an in-house tax advisor by analyzing business transactions and initiatives related to retail and marketplace. Collaborate with various internal teams to provide guidance on VAT/GST implications and ensure tax compliance.
Indirect Tax Research: Conduct in-depth research on VAT, GST, and other indirect tax issues, both domestically and internationally, partnering with external advisors as necessary. Provide actionable insights and recommendations as part of a global tax strategy.
Legislative Monitoring: Track and communicate developments in VAT/GST and other indirect tax laws, regulations, rulings, procedures, and court decisions. Assist the business with remaining compliant with legislative changes by updating internal processes and systems accordingly.
Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain relationships with internal teams and tax advisors. Act as the point of contact for indirect tax-related matters.
Tax Compliance & Audit Support: Work closely with compliance and technology teams to ensure accurate and timely recording of tax information. Support internal and external audits, as well as litigation cases involving indirect taxes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with U.S. and international tax and business teams to provide indirect tax expertise. Ensure complex tax concepts are communicated clearly to non-tax professionals, aiding in decision-making and process improvements.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in VAT/GST or indirect tax management.
Strong understanding of indirect tax laws, regulations, and rulings across various jurisdictions.
Excellent research and analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate tax concepts to a non-technical audience.
Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams across different regions.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with retail, marketplace, or e-commerce businesses.
Proficiency in tax compliance systems and audit processes.
Professional tax qualifications (e.g., CPA, CTA, or equivalent).

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00-$155,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
