In this important global role at Walmart, you will support the operations and coordination of live internal and external events and experiences. The ideal candidate has strong people skills and is aware of current trends, is a creative analytical person and an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while staying calm and composed.

Reporting to the Director of Event Operations, this role will play a critical role in helping us deliver world-class events and tailored experiences for our target audiences while also living our values. At Walmart, we aim to build a better world — helping people save money, live better and renew the planet while building thriving, resilient communities.

What You’ll Do:

The Operations Manager for Event Solutions will assist in implementing the vision and execution of small and large events, building relationships with partners and suppliers to support organizational goals. This role will communicate strategies, budgets and timelines to teams and help keep leadership informed during planning, on-site execution, and resource coordination. The successful candidate will stay updated on industry trends and contribute to creativity and innovation while following best practices to improve efficiency and manage costs. The Manager will support vendor performance, drive attendee engagement, and help resolve challenges for smooth event execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Event Planning: Participate in planning large and complex events by building and maintaining relationships with business partners.

  • Onsite Execution: Lead and provide onsite execution of small to medium-scale events.

  • Project Management: Detail project scope, source vendors, determine appropriate layout of space, and coordinate with cross-functional teams. Provide options, timelines, and progress updates to business partners.

  • Budget Management: Help build and implement event budgets by monitoring and enforcing department budgets. Communicate budget adjustments/recommendations as needed and submit invoices for payment promptly.

  • Logistical Communications: Create and distribute logistical communications for events. Develop, manage, and evaluate the effectiveness of event communications and technology platforms by collaborating with cross-functional business partners.

  • Benchmarking & Expertise: Apply key learnings from internal and external benchmarking. Demonstrate up-to-date expertise and provide expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices.

  • Customer & Business Alignment: Support and align efforts to meet customer and business needs.

  • Business Solutions Implementation: Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders.

  • Process Management: Determine and conduct necessary processes and practices. Monitor progress and results, recognize, and capitalize on improvement opportunities.

  • Adaptability: Adapt to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.

  • Policy Compliance: Comply with company policies and procedures, and support the company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.

  • Business Process Execution: Demonstrate and assist others in executing business processes and practices.

  • Strategy Development: Assist in the development and implementation of business strategies and plans.

  • Resource Management: Determine resource needs and support outcome measurement.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in event planning and operations management.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Proficiency in budget management and financial planning.

  • Effective communication and people skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Certifications: Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or other relevant certifications preferred.

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00-$130,000.00
