In this important global role at Walmart, you will support the operations and coordination of live internal and external events and experiences. The ideal candidate has strong people skills and is aware of current trends, is a creative analytical person and an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while staying calm and composed.

Reporting to the Director of Event Operations, this role will play a critical role in helping us deliver world-class events and tailored experiences for our target audiences while also living our values. At Walmart, we aim to build a better world — helping people save money, live better and renew the planet while building thriving, resilient communities.

What You’ll Do:

The Senior Manager of Operations for Event Solutions will implement the vision and execution of large and high-profile events, building strong relationships with partners and suppliers to achieve organizational goals. The Sr. Manager of Operations will communicate strategies, budgets, and timelines across teams, keeping leadership updated while leading on-site execution and resource coordination. The successful candidate will stay informed on industry trends and will drive creativity and innovation while developing best practices that enhance efficiency and reduce costs. The Senior Manager of Operations will guide vendor performance, drive attendee engagement, and proactively address challenges for seamless event execution.

Key Responsibilities

Event Planning & Execution:

  • Plan and execute large and complex events.
  • Lead and manage small to large-scale events, ensuring seamless operations.

Team Leadership:

  • Serve as a leader on the team and support Event Solutions leaders.
  • Develop long-term plans for high-visibility meetings and events.

Innovation & Cost Efficiency:

  • Anticipate industry trends and drive cost efficiencies and innovation.
  • Develop and enforce policies to govern budgets and spending, reducing overall costs.

Facility & Resource Management:

  • Conduct facility tours and inspections, review milestones, and allocate staffing resources.

Best Practices & Collaboration:

  • Identify and implement best practices and processes.
  • Organize cross-functional coalitions to respond quickly to urgent situations.

Strategic Direction:

  • Develop, communicate, and implement business strategies and plans.
  • Analyze business objectives and customer needs, providing overall direction.

Operational Excellence:

  • Evaluate operational processes and measure outcomes to ensure results.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and foster a customer-focused environment.

Adaptability & Continuous Learning:

  • Promote adaptability and continuous learning within the team.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in event planning and operations management.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in budget management and financial planning.
  • Effective communication and people skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Certifications: Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or other relevant certifications preferred.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Minimum Qualifications...

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Hospitality, Business, or related field and 3 years’ experience in communications, project management, event management, or relevant area OR 5 years’ experience in experience in communications, project management, event management, or relevant area. 2 years’ supervisory experience or experience leading cross-functional teams.
