What you'll do...

  • Identify information technology and security risk exposures and assess the effectiveness of IT controls across technology areas supporting Walmart’s business processes, including reviewing application development, technology architecture, data flows, data privacy and protection, etc by coordinating with tech and business key stakeholders; analyzing information technology (IT) and business information to identify control improvement opportunities.  

  • Recommend business and technology strategies, processes, control improvement areas including automated controls by identifying and determining control deficiencies and severity; and evaluating current environment against internal standards, policies, procedures, and information technology (IT) standards and frameworks. 

  • Drive audit efficiencies by recognizing automation and integration opportunities. 

  • Assist in developing Information Technology (IT) audit plans by identifying technology behind business process. 

  • Manage integrated/ cross-functional testing of in-scope areas for Information Technology (IT) effectiveness and managerial control by overseeing assessment of IT components of platforms and/or applications supporting business functions and objectives. 

  • Drive audit efficiencies by recognizing automation and integration opportunities, create common methodologies, and respond to critical business situations. 

  • Manage the execution of audits within the defined scope, timeline, and with quality; ensuring adherence to audit methodology. 

  • Provide technical guidance and direction to Staff/Sr Auditors, review and approve test plans, approaches., and workpapers. 

  • Review and challenge test plan findings and recommendations; challenge control weakness severity and disposition; conduct closing meetings; identify and draft audit findings; write audit reports; and follow up on action plans.

  • Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies it to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices. 

  • Competent in effectiveness and managerial control by overseeing assessment of IT components of platforms and/or applications against internal standards, policies, procedures, and IT standards and frameworks, and supervising and coaching Associates on audit techniques, judgment, and audit projects. 

  • Can identify business needs; determine and carry out necessary processes and practices; monitor progress and results; recognize and capitalize on improvement opportunities; and adapt to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities. 

  • Be able to have critical thinking and controls mindset; Look beyond symptoms to determine root cause of problems; Assess the extent of threats or damage to systems and recommend improvements and resolutions for complex IT management risks and issues; Maintain and advance expertise by reviewing emerging technologies. Understand how to apply technology to data classifications and control. 

  • Model compliance with company policies and procedures and support company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00-$155,000.00

Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, information technology, or related area.
4 years’ experience in information technology, audit, or information security.

Preferred Qualifications...

7 years’ experience leading cross-functional computer information systems audit projects., Certification in a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certification Information Systems Auditor (CISA)., Prior work experience at a Big 4 accounting firm or similar environment dealing with technology risks., Prior work experience at a large organization that manages its own technology infrastructure and has multiple architectural and deployment models (for example, both on-premises and cloud).
