Position: Senior Software Engineer

Job Location: 10500 NE 8th Street, Bellevue, WA 98004

Duties: Designs, develops, and maintains backend software services that support advertising on Walmart.com and its subsidiaries. Implements low-latency REST APIs using the Spring Boot framework in Java and Google SQL Server as storage systems. These APIs empowers brand advertisers and API partners to independently manage their ad campaigns. Works with modern web-based architectures, such as REST APIs, Serverless, and event-driven microservices. Creates and deploys large-scale, containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes in public clouds such as Google GCP and Microsoft Azure. Collaborates with other scrum teams, QA, Product, Program Management, and Partner-Ops, while working closely with cross-functional project development teams. Participates in 24/7 on-call rotations to troubleshoot production issues across various teams.

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 2 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 5 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment.

Skills required: Experience designing and implementing REST API web services using Java. Experience coding in an object-oriented programming language including Java, PHP, JavaScript, and Python. Experience with distributed version control systems including Git. Experience with cloud computing platforms including AWS, GCP, or Azure. Demonstrated knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, including SQL query optimization and database design. Experience with software development methodologies including Agile or Scrum. Experience with continuous integration and deployment tools including Jenkins. Experience with scalable system design and architecture principles. Experience with containerization technologies including Docker or Kubernetes. Experience working with microservices architecture and related frameworks including Spring Boot. Experience with effectively visualizing and analyzing data utilizing monitoring and dashboard tools including Prometheus and Grafana. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $190,486/year to $216,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.   Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
