What you'll do...

Are you ready to lead our Strategic Security team and execute strategies related to protecting the World’s largest retailer from insider threats and threats of economic espionage?  The Director, Strategic Security position is a critical role charged with mitigating risk from sophisticated external threat actors and insider threats that may seek to steal sensitive corporate information and impact Walmart’s brand, reputation, and operations. The Director of Strategic Security will design, develop, and enhance our Strategic Security program, and will build a team of subject matter experts focused on preventing, detecting, and responding to these threats by establishing best practices and collaborating with cross functional teams.  In this role, you will utilize technology to enhance our current security processes, develop and implement security policy to support the program, and leverage existing security programs, such as Associate Vetting and Risk Intelligence to assist in protecting corporate assets.  


You’ll make an impact by…

  • Exerting your leadership skills and experience in addressing insider threats and threats from sophisticated external threat actors by leading a team of security experts in mitigating corporate risk

  • Developing business best practices and procedures that will identify and mitigate threats of Insider Threats and economic espionage

  • Creating strategies and policies that support the prevention, detection, and response to Insider threats

  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to help guide and employ mitigation strategies

  • Develop and enhance Corporate Security Awareness and Education campaigns

  • Leverage and enhance Associate Vetting processes and our Intelligence team to support Strategic Security goals and objectives

  • Develop strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, including Cyber, Privacy, Investigations, Legal, and our People Teams

  • Develop and enhance Security Policy to support the protection of sensitive corporate information

  • Continuously evaluate changes in the threat environment, to include tactics and techniques to enhance protective capabilities

  • Serve as the Counterintelligence and Insider Threat SME

  • You’re a subject matter expert in intelligence, counterintelligence, risk analysis, and insider threat identification and management

  • You have experience in investigating corporate espionage, theft of trade secrets, and intellectual property

  • You have experience in Security Education and Awareness programs

  • You’re familiar with vetting processes within a corporate environment

  • You are comfortable with technology and how to leverage tools to improve processes

  • You’re driven to execute and to act quickly

  • You’re process-minded and look for opportunities to streamline for improved efficiency and effectiveness

  • You have strong communication skills and are able to interact with senior leadership and stakeholders

  • You have supervisory experience leading small teams

As permitted by applicable law, provide evidence of full vaccination as defined by CDC guidelines OR secure approval of medical or religious accommodation for the vaccination mandate., Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Law, Risk Management, or related field and 5 years’ experience in security, emergency management, risk management, law enforcement, fire service, or related area OR 7 years’ experience in security, emergency management, risk management, law enforcement, fire service, or related area. 1 year’s supervisory experience.
