Sr. Marketing Manager; SEM

The Sr. Marketing Manager is responsible for activation and experimentation across our suite of digital media programs to maximize sales, traffic, customer acquisition and retention for Walmart. Channels include Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Display Ads, Paid Social and coordinating with Affiliate and SEO teams. The Marketing Manager will manage the deployment and optimization of marketing investment to drive the highest possible returns while meeting daily, weekly, and monthly goals. The position is based in any of the following locations: San Bruno, CA, Bentonville, AR, or Hoboken, NJ.

  • Deploy, optimize experiment, and report on digital marketing campaigns.

  • Work closely within a cross-functional digital store team to uncover customer insights that will help advance the business.

  • Partner with product and technical teams to discuss best-in-class product initiative/trends and determine if there are opportunities to further advance key areas.

  • Provide reporting & data analysis to problem solve, identify opportunities and communicate key performance trends to the organization. 

  • Monitor competitive best practices, keep up with industry trends and introduce new ideas for improving performance.

  • Work closely with key strategic partners like Google, Facebook, and Microsoft to ensure efficient execution of our programs and identify future opportunities and advancements.

Functional Competencies

  • 7-10+ years of Performance Marketing experience building, managing, optimizing, reporting and analyzing campaigns. 

  • Very strong analytical and quantitative skills with a demonstrated ability to interpret and leverage data to drive decision making

  • Strong consumer marketing experience and passion for retail and e-commerce.

  • Structured approach to identifying opportunities, defining solutions and executing action plans

  • Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to prioritize and meet aggressive targets and deadlines

  • Ability to translate strategy into tactics and ideas into action (characterized by solid execution).

  • Excellent business acumen and problem-solving skills

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

  • Knowledge of SQL or other database query languages a plus but not required.

  • Understanding of Wal-Mart’s brand promise and the ability to ensure consistent, on-brand messaging.

  • Strong communication skills, including ability to communicate with both business and technical resources.  Also, will need to be comfortable speaking in Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews and presenting to senior marketing executives.
