  • Oversees and leads the strategy for Walmart  Supply Chain by identifying sustainability efforts, cost savings, and opportunities; overseeing and monitoring policy, process, and standards adherence; evaluating performance based on performance metrics; developing and maintaining working relationships with internal and external partners, and developing and driving a communication strategy for the organization and ensuring integration with corporate strategy.

  • Oversees the executive updates for Supply Chain Innovation initiatives throughout Logistics by ensuring alignment of Logistics resources with Supply Chain initiatives; developing communication with senior leaders to ensure the implementation of key strategies; and communicating with other areas within the organization to gain support for and alignment of initiatives.

  • Drives the root cause analysis of project impacts by identifying areas for improvement with cross-functional teams; acting as a subject matter expert for Logistics to provide support and guidance to cross-functional teams on supply chain capabilities and limitations; approving plans of action to improve the efficiency of merchandise flow at a reduced expense; and approving recommended solutions and optimum processes while securing the support of senior leadership.

  • Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.

  • Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent.

  • Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy.

Model Assessment & Validation - Model fit testing, tuning, and validation techniques. Variables and features that impact model performance. Relevant policy and standards.

Model Deployment & Scaling - Variables and features that impact model performance. Understanding of servers, model formats to store models.

Code Development & Testing - Coding languages like SQL, Java, C++, Python and others. Testing methods such as static, dynamic, software composition analysis, manual penetration testing and others. Business, domain understanding.

Data Visualization - Visualization guidelines and best-practices for complex data types. Multiple data visualization tools (e.g., Python, R libraries, GGplot, Matplotlib, Ploty, etc.). Advanced visualization techniques. Multiple story plots and structures (OABCDE). Communication & influencing techniques. Emotional intelligence.

Data Strategy - Appropriate application and understanding of data ecosystem, including Data Management, Data Quality Standards and Data Governance, Accessibility, Storage and Scalability etc. Deep understanding of the business value of data and data enabled insights and decisions. Understanding of the methods and applications that unlock the monetary value of data assets.

Entry Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 6 years' experience in an analytics related field.
  • Option 2: Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 4 years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 3: 8 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
  • 2 years' supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, or related field.
  • 9 years' experience in data science, machine learning, optimization models, or related field.
  • Successful completion of one or more assessments in Python, Spark, Scala, or R.
  • 7 years’ experience using open-source frameworks (for example, scikit learn, tensorflow, torch).
  • 4 years' supervisory experience.
