Senior Director, Innovations – Sam’s Club

Want to use your leadership and program management skills to help Sam's Club achieve their essential strategic goals and programs? The senior director of innovations is an essential thought partnership role that works with teams across the business and the executive team to help shape and guide performance and execution against strategic intent. Reporting to the vice president of strategy, you'll lead the Sam's Club transformation program.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Creating innovation to achieve and influence the senior executive vision by anticipating our needs and identifying industry trends and market forces

  • Developing and championing transformational and creative change for multiple integrated strategies across the business by creating a compelling vision, integrating programs, partnering with multiple business sponsors, and obtaining support from executive vice presidents and senior vice presidents.

  • Driving major change programs to completion by leading large-scale strategies that impact store, merchandising, replenishment, distribution, transportation, and system processes

  • Managing a portion of the department budget and profit and loss (P&L) by forecasting resource needs and expenses for personnel, travel, and other variable items

  • Influencing the teams by creating a compelling vision and leading multiple strategies that improve the business and making decisions on direction and tools to be used, balancing workloads, developing both short and long-term plans; identifying alternative ways to accomplish goals; and using internal and external resources

  • Providing overall direction by analyzing our goals and customer needs, developing, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices, analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans

  • Developing and implementing strategies to attract an accomplished and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps - recruiting and developing talent, supporting mentorship, workforce development and succession planning, and applying the capabilities of our talent.

  • Advancing a diverse and inclusive environment where associates can bring their best everyday

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field and 6 years' experience in engineering, project management, supply chain, operations management, or related field OR 10 years' experience in engineering, project management, supply chain, operations management, or related field. 4 years' of supervisory experience. 2 years' experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office (for example, Word, Excel).
