Takes proactive steps to mitigate potential risks by leveraging appropriate tools, dashboards, and data sources in order to extract relevantinformation. Predicts the impacts of item decisions and develops hypotheses based on historical context, trends, and patterns, as well as relevantitem data. Anticipates industry and competitor trends by examining data (for example, competitor sales results, trade surveys, data firm reports) andidentifying trends. Develops strategies that anticipate changes in the industry. Provides feedback to cross-functional partners on the relevance ofindustry data sources and develops business cases for industry data source needs. Identifies potential alternative and emerging data sources (forexample, search engine results, external research publications). Provides feedback to cross-functional partners and develops business cases foralternate data source needs. Leverages data analysis tools to make real-time decisions, anticipate business questions, drive hypothesis formulation,guide testing, build a data-driven culture, and build, present, and apply insights to decision-making processes. Provides feedback to cross-functionalpartners on the tools for monitoring and evaluating performance, productivity, customer interest, and other relevant metrics. Strategic Acumen: Analyzes customer behavior (for example, demand trends, buying behaviors) across channels and within specific channels.Adapts strategies to drive value for the customers and generate sales. Analyzes trends in feedback from customers (for example, item reviews, socialmedia posts) and customer data (for example, purchase frequency, Net Promoter Score (NPS), customer satisfaction). Develops and implementsactionable plans to improve the customer experience and mitigate issues. Analyzes industry and macroeconomic (for example, commodity prices,unemployment rates, purchasing power) trends and changes in competitor strategies and offerings to develop insights. Infuses knowledge andinsights into category/department strategies. Adapts to changes and capitalizes on opportunities for growth. Analyzes the implications of channelstrategy (for example, customer satisfaction and ease of shopping, product costs, item profitability, associate experience) for items within theassortment. Collaborates with peers and cross-functional partners to capitalize on opportunities to coordinate strategic decisions. Financial Management: Analyzes and provides recommendations on the elements of profit-and-loss statements. Identifies actions needed to meetfinancial targets. Identifies and reacts to impacts to the bottom line beyond cost of goods sold (for example, shipping costs, waste, markdowns).Develops business cases to support financial plans that deliver on business needs, drive member satisfaction, and align with the overall strategy.Leverages analytics and forecasts and applies business intelligence to identify risks, manage upcoming changes, and navigate economicheadwinds/tailwinds. Leverages cross-functional partner expertise to develop financial forecasts and plans and determine open-to-buy, pricingactions, and inventory-related decisions which influence profit and loss. Supply Chain and Operations: Addresses efficiency breakdowns related to Supply Chain and Operations (for example, supplier service, deliveryschedules, inventory levels/flow packaging, merchandise display standards, item placement, other merchandise related factors). Providesperformance feedback and recommendations on process improvements to suppliers. Drives consistent communication in order to understandpotential breakdowns in supplier logistics. Coordinates with Supply Chain partners to understand and solution network capacity, transportation, andother logistics issues. Facilitates interrelationships and information sharing between Merchandising, Supply Chain, and Operations partners. Takeactions to address shrink and waste through collaboration with partners. Performs root cause analysis on quality issues in partnership with functionalpartners and develops solutions. Analyzes impacts to the profit-and-loss statement of various actions taken to improve Supply Chain and Operationsefficiencies. Club Solutions: Defines the cadence of engagement with Club Operations leadership to communicate replenishment plans. Creates reporting andcommunication for allocation issues, including business impacts, progress updates, and other critical information. Provides feedback to InventoryOptimization Teams. Defines the processes for engaging with the Emergency Operations Center and approves plans. Defines the efficient captureand associated business impact of regional events affecting replenishment strategies. Develops processes for integrating one-off club ordersseamlessly into replenishment plans for maximum fulfilment and member satisfaction. Allocation Quality: Monitors the quality of allocation orders and flow plans. Oversees the identification and effective management of oversupply or out of-stock scenarios to maintain network efficiency. Business Partnering : Develops and maintains stakeholder maps/segmentation. Defines interactions and linkages across the value chain. Plays a keyrole in using stakeholder engagement (including collaborative working) to deliver strategic benefits. Reviews communication plans to ensure relevantinformation sharing. Recognizes and translates complex data into challenging insights to support stakeholders and explain complex data in an easy to-understand way. Supports and influences evidence-based decision-making by objectively establishing requirements, identifying options, andselecting and recommending solutions to deliver services that provide value to business partners.
