What you'll do...

As a Merchandising Analyst, you will be aligned to one of the below roles.

Replenishment Analyst

Ensures high quality customer service is being provided to stores by tracking and responding to store correspondence, remedy tickets, and calls;
determining root cause; executing change forecasts; conducting research; identifying patterns in remedy tickets; identifying opportunities to improve
existing processes; making recommendations for improving processes; and providing support to the stores for area of focus.
Implements complex inventory strategies within categories by building forecasts to align with merchandising needs; validating and implementing new
item forecasts; monitoring and calibrating store forecasts; and operating and manipulating office productivity software, statistical packages, inventory
management systems, and ad hoc query tools.
Helps achieve financial results for merchandise categories by analyzing data and using bottom-up inventory planning to develop recommendations;
analyzing seasonal inventory flow plans to ensure they meet customer demand and return-on-investment goals; participating in and managing cross functional
projects to meet strategic financial plans; leveraging analytics to influence decisions; modeling future inventory plans based on supplier
capability; delivering key performance metrics and communicating objectives and results of financial and operational performance to internal and
external management.
Assists with the execution of item-level replenishment for medium-complexity categories with limited scope by tracking modular set dates to ensure
product alignment; understanding the buying strategy for each modular; understanding and accounting for specific item attributes and how those
items arrive at the store; executing inventory strategies; partnering with suppliers on item specific information (for example, item deletes, item adds);
and coordinating solutions for exceptions that fall within the business.
 

Planning Analyst

Executes financial plans for merchandise categories by building partnerships with cross-functional specialists; preparing, revising, and executing
subcategory budgets, seasonal buy plans, and line review financials; determining item and store feature quantities; conducting analyses to identify
business drivers and levers; and developing and presenting financial recommendations to merchants.
Assists with category team profit and loss and financial forecasting by calculating and adjusting annual, monthly, weekly, and daily financial
projections against actual results; conducting financial analyses and reports to understand and explain business trends and performance; and
preparing and analyzing new item and merchandise line financial reviews.
Supports the continuous development of financial strategies and key event plans alongside category team by attending meetings with suppliers;
modeling, analyzing, and evaluating the impact of key variables on subcategory performance and risk exposure; preparing and reporting category
strategy templates to inform strategic decision-making; analyzing and reconciling financial results of modular changes; identifying discrepancies in
financial results; executing actions to correct discrepancies; and ensuring the modular assortment mix aligns with financial goals of the category.

Modular Analyst

Executes category modular assortments and design layouts by developing and validating the category purchase decision hierarchy tree; working with
buyers to align modular development with overall category strategy; determining clusters of stores based on similar selling patterns; reviewing
effectiveness of previous modular; creating predominant modular assortment and design layouts for categories; overseeing others in modifying
predominant modular assortment and design layout based on individual store needs; and overseeing the process and accuracy of modular execution.
Implements modular cluster variations based on the modular layout template, assortment strategy, and merchandising rules by analyzing optimal item
assortments; maintaining modular layout design; recommending alternate solutions when design integrity is compromised; preparing reports for use in
the modular walkthrough; and developing the modular cover letter detailing strategy and execution instructions.
Implements strategic opportunities for assigned categories in the design and development of category modulars by reviewing internal and external
data sources; compiling multiple data sources; identifying product and customer trends within categories; comparing Walmart and competitor data;
and determining market gaps.

Strong data analytical skills is encouraged.
