What you'll do at

Position/Project Summary As Senior Manager, AB Testing, you will work with Sam’s Club leadership to build a strategy and execution plan that improves experience. Working with cross-functional teams such as product management and other analysts with in the team, you will provide AB Testing experience/guidance in the team coaching other analysts with best practices and evolve AB Testing at Sam's to the next level. Thorough data analytics, AB Testing, Cohort modeling, various financial models etc. is required. The ideal candidate should be an independent solution oriented performer, skilled and experienced with using data to measure experience performance and help deep dive. *Manager's Ideal Candidate Must-Haves • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field like statistics / math / computer science / information technology and 7+ years in relevant e-commerce AB Testing or Master’s degree in a quantitative field like statistics / math / computer science / information technology and 5+ years in relevant e-commerce AB Testing experience • Minimum 3 years of work experience in a quantitative or analytical role within ecommerce • Advanced modeling, stats and SQL experience working on a large scale • Curiosity, humility and willingness to learn and work in teams • Proficiency in Excel and Power Point • HQL, Spark experience Manager's Preferred Qualifications (3-5 "nice to haves") • Masters in Analytics / Statistics • R / Python • Great hands on experience on Different A/B/N testing methods • Great articulator and communicator Manager's Preferred Qualifications (3-5 "nice to haves") • MBA or Masters in Analytics / Statistics • R / Python • People management • Great articulator and communicator People Development: Builds and leads a team to execute on business area or category objectives. Coaches team members and provides feedback to enhance skills, knowledge and work performance. Conducts performance and career development conversations, if applicable. Maintains team motivation and engagement. Mentors less experienced associates and managers. Business Partnerships: Consults with senior leadership/ business partners (e.g., Sr. Directors/Directors) to understand goals/functional objectives, understand and identify key business issues and formulate ideas to mitigate current and future business challenges/issues; confirms functional research objectives and oversees development of tactical research plans. Manages the creation of and presents actionable recommendations to Sr. Directors/Directors to contribute to business results. Serves as a subject matter expert to the business on market insights. Project Scope: Owns multiple projects end-to-end for a business area, category or prototype. Manages risk associated with implementation. Model Development: Develops data models (algorithms, approaches) for multiple projects within a business area or category to drive business results and value. Collaborates with project team to implement modeling solutions. Proof of Concept and Prototype: Manages the development and implementation of prototypes and production-ready complex algorithms for multiple projects. Manages the testing and validation process to monitor the solution. Collaborates with Advanced Analytics Experts to develop new data analysis techniques. Data Collection and Analysis: Manages the development and application of advanced analytics to address unique business and technical problems, and support data-driven decision making. Makes strategic recommendations to analytics leadership based on data analysis. Supports more experienced team members with the development of data analysis strategies; participates in strategy development conversations. Collaboration: Collaborates with functional leadership and cross-functional teams (e.g., Categories, Customer Experience, Merchandising) to develop consultative solutions for multiple projects for a business area, category or prototype. Interacts on a daily basis, and collaborates with external business partners and vendors. Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness. Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy. Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.
