What you'll do...Leads the due diligence process for mergers and acquisitions by securing internal human resources to form due diligence teams; overseeing the preparation of team training materials and delivery; seeking bids from competing advisory firms to engage accounting, tax, and legal counsel; comparing bids and recommending firms through consideration of cost, experience, and potential conflicts of interest; managing data-room reviews to ensure all documents have been evaluated; managing the execution of supplier contracts; and developing complex financial models to ensure compliance with Walmart's valuation standards. Secures and leverages industry-leading advisors by establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers; and leading on-site meetings and conference calls to stay current with industry trends, best practices, and innovative solutions related to mergers and acquisitions. Ensures cross-functional due diligence leaders and senior divisional management are updated on project progression by managing daily debriefing sessions with due diligence team leaders; reviewing final due diligence reports; debriefing functional officers on high-impact risks and recommended action plans before concluding the due diligence process; managing the ongoing collaboration with integration team captains to ensure continuity of action plans for addressing risks identified through due diligence process; and ensuring open acquisition items are addressed and closed. Partners with departmental leadership to determine merger and acquisition transaction structure and contract negotiation strategy by participating in transaction structure and financing meetings with legal, tax, and merger and acquisitions professionals; assessing the alignment of acquisitions with Walmart's corporate structure and financial strategy; influencing and providing input on contract terms; and ensuring negotiation positions are aligned with the transaction objectives. Develops, resources, and implements new tools and technology to facilitate the mergers and acquisitions global process by identifying sources of market intelligence; designing, coordinating, and implementing new information sharing, analysis, and data-management solutions ; ensuring the seamless integration of third-party software with company systems; and evaluating, identifying, and resolving process gaps and issues. Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning. Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent. Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy. Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives; engaging key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives; and supporting associate efforts in these areas.
