It's an exciting time to join our Walmart journey. We are seeking Full Stack Senior Software Engineer for a key position in Walmart's Associate Tech initiatives. This dynamic team is responsible for building technology products that help our store associates to efficiently perform their job functions to receive merchandise delivered to the stores. And provide mechanisms to integrate with other verticals in Walmart such as Inventory, Finance, etc. The team works in large scale with billions of items shipped to stores on a daily basis. You'll be part of Walmart's commitment to serve up millions of customers.

What you'll do

  • Provides technical leadership for medium to large, complex, cross-functional projects., enabling the work of 6 -10 engineers.
  • Specifies software architectures and sub-system decompositions that involve significant integrations and/or cross-team collaboration.
  • Provides pertinent documents, direction, and examples. Identifies short- and long-term solutions; Implements new architectural patterns.
  • Principal contributor (lead) and approver for architecture reviews activities involving complex integrations.
  • Identifies technical strategies, processes, and best practices for the department.
  • Develops, and maintains frameworks, tools, and intellectual property that benefit multiple Walmart Technology teams.
  • Mentors senior engineers in the practice of software architecture and technical leadership.
  • Provides leadership for department-oriented continuous improvement activities.
  • Actively contributes to open source projects and other communities of practice within Walmart and the industry.
  • Promotes the company mission, value, standards of ethics and integrity.
    Enables and supports the Open Door Policy.

What you’ll bring…

  • 6+ years of experience designing and implementing scalable systems using Java and Spring framework/technology stack
  • 6+ years of experience with RESTful API architecture and design
  • Experience implementing automation test suites using JUnit.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery using Maven and Jenkins
  • Experience with Messaging tools like Kafka or ApacheMQ
  • Experience with application/infrastructure monitoring tools such as Splunk/Dynatrace stack
  • Experience using Relational Databases like MySQL or Oracle
  • Experience building applications and storing complex data across NoSQL data platforms like Cassandra
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum Methodologies
