Market Analysis: Performs highly complex customer audits and KPI analysis to segment customers to understand specific needs and trends. Maintains knowledge of e-commerce marketing and customer demographics, decision trees and behaviors and recommends specific actions to shift customer behaviors towards new products. Manages the review of customer preference/cohort behavior analyses, as well as, competitor and site analyses to identify marketing insights for and category or super-category competitiveness.
Category Marketing Strategy: Provides input into category marketing and growth strategy. Understands category marketing strategy and what factors drive performance for category groups; works with Category GMs to identify ways to differentiate Walmart in the marketplace (e.g., price experience, assortment). Reviews market analysis and reviews weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual marketing planning/calendaring to align with category positioning and key objectives. Uses insights from category and external marketing analyses to begin to influence decisions and guide discussions (experience conversations, vendor discussions, etc.). Provides input into creative and media strategies based on knowledge of marketing, categories, and external market.
Campaign Implementation and Management: Reviews integrated media and creative development plan output and provides feedback to marketing associates and other service partners to enhance current and future performance. Reviews campaign performance data and trends (awareness, conversion, acquisition and retention) to develop understanding of consumer habits within the categories and adjusts campaigns as to ensure success. Ensures team coordinates with retail to sync marketing and landing pages for a seamless customer experience. Ensures campaigns are executed on time and within budget. Reports on campaigns to retail partners and include adjustments to improve performance.
Category Financial Management: Reviews and presents daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting on marketing metrics (e.g., traffic, cost per visit, ROAS, CAC) and provides revenue reports for multiple categories. Tracks revenue campaign performance goal achievement and provides updates to category managers and directors on budget usage and goal achievement status. Recommends budget/mix adjustments based on status and campaign performance.
Collaboration: Collaborates with Marketing associates and cross-functional teams across the organization (e.g., Retail Category Management, Marketing Strategy and Planning, Digital Media, Supply Chain, Site Merchandising, Customer Service, Insights and Analytics) to develop and implement marketing programs for the categories. Oversees creative, media, and other internal/external resources (e.g., external agency/vendors, key technology/ business partners) to develop content for campaigns. Understands customer experience roadmaps. Shares feedback with all teams to enhance quality of outputs. Coordinates with e-commerce and in-store peers for the category or categories.
Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.
