What you'll do at

Key Responsibilities As the Senior Director of Brand Strategy, you will be responsible for helping to drive the overall marketing brand strategy and identify the actionable roadmap to success. You will also lead the Multicultural marketing strategy, from individual initiatives to ensuring Walmart’s diversity and inclusion philosophy is integrated across all marketing campaigns and activations. You will partner with the retail marketing team to develop creative marketing strategies for core business initiatives and in-turn partner with agency teams to support the execution. Additionally, you will drive brand owned marketing initiatives, including anthemic reputation work, community and sustainability programs and Associate brand programs, from strategy to execution. You will partner with a multitude of cross-functional teams to integrate the Walmart brand positioning and drive consistency across the organization, including Retail Marketing, Public Affairs, Government Affairs, Foundation, People Team (Human Resources), Philanthropy and other key stakeholders.   The ideal candidate for the role highly strategic, well versed in telling crisp narratives via PowerPoint that support brand and business goals. The candidate is comfortable presenting, highly articulate and confident while extremely team oriented and partnership minded.  You are someone who can move quickly and stay calm in a fast-paced environment, while building trust and credibility among peers.  You are action-oriented, resourceful, approachable and kind. Key Priorities:  Strategy Lead the brand marketing strategy, continuously pressure testing the strategic vision and optimizing the roadmap to deliver our goals  Work closely with Public Affairs to develop coordinated strategies for reputation campaigns and media approach Develop strategy for brand-led initiatives, including, anthemic reputation work, community and sustainability programs Partner with Retail Marketing to develop all strategic briefs for marketing initiatives and campaigns, ensuring executions stay true to strategic vision  Bring forth new opportunities and ideas that deliver on the brand positioning and activation plan, working in partnership with agency teams  Partners with Global Consumer Insights team to translate brand health and customer data into actionable marketing strategies Write annual operating plan for brand marketing, aligning strategy with corporate goals and objectives and retail marketing strategies and plans  Diversity and Inclusion Leadership and Integration Leads overall D&I marketing strategy, ensuring that diverse insights and cultural nuances are incorporated in all strategic briefs and executions  Lead relationship with Multicultural agencies to shape strategies and regularly provide insights and learnings to cross-functional team Regularly partner with key internal teams, including People Team, Retail Marketing and Public Affairs to deploy D&I strategy and insights Manage Brand Owned Initiatives: Lead the executional vision and activation planning for all activities within the brand communications pillar (reputation, sustainability, community) Identify new opportunities and ideas to positively impact Walmart’s brand reputation and deliver on overarching strategy Partner with afore mentioned cross-functional teams, both internally and externally, to translate brand work across the organization and integrate into existing plans  Our goal is to be the Employer of Choice by enabling our organization to have Great People in Great Jobs, working on Great Teams.
