Directs and guides members of management and hourly associates to ensure proper customer service, operational excellence, financial performance, community involvement, and a culture of integrity and belonging. Leads by example, modeling company values and standards in all areas of responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service Leadership
Directs and guides management and hourly associates on proper customer service approaches and techniques by modeling excellent service (e.g., tour to teach).
Ensures customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved within company guidelines and standards.
Builds relationships with associates to ensure proper feedback, answers questions, and provides information to customers and associates.
Financial Performance
Drives and ensures the financial performance of the facility by confirming that budgeted sales, wages, and other expenses are achieved.
Assists the store manager in leading the management team to control expenses and wages to ensure expenses are indexed to sales.
Creates and implements plans to improve the facility’s financial performance, including budget creation and alignment with business needs.
Analyzes economic trends and community needs for budget forecasting.
Community Engagement
Participates in community outreach programs and encourages associates to serve as good members of the community.
Establishes and maintains relationships with key individuals and groups in the community, representing the company and presenting its perspective to external organizations.
Follows company media guidelines and promotes company-sponsored programs, events, and sustainability efforts to associates and the local community.
Facility Operations
Directs facility operations by setting standards for appropriate service levels and teaching effective merchandise presentation (e.g., accurate pricing, proper signage).
Maintains in-stock and inventory levels, requests merchandise to meet community needs, and provides direction on executing company programs and strategic initiatives.
Ensures quality assurance standards and oversees safety and operational reviews.
Associate Supervision & Development
Provides supervision and development opportunities for management and hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, and assigning duties.
Sets clear expectations, recognizes associates, delegates business objectives, and develops qualified associates to meet staffing needs and achieve company growth potential.
Builds a team-based work environment, establishes performance expectations, conducts regular performance evaluations, and promotes a belonging mindset in the workplace.
Business Planning & Execution
Drives execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs, developing and communicating business plans and priorities, and removing barriers to performance.
Provides resources, sets performance standards, measures progress, adjusts performance as needed, develops contingency plans, and supports continuous learning.
Policy and Compliance
Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others.
Ensures compliance with company standards and supports the Open Door Policy.
Continuous Improvement
Evaluates the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives by consulting with business partners, managers, coworkers, and other stakeholders.
Solicits, evaluates, and applies suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00-$100,000.00 Plus Differential to meet legislative requirements, where applicable.
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:
- Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)
- Complex Structure (based on external factors that create challenges)
Minimum Qualifications...

1 year’s general management experience to include financial accountability.2 years’ of college; OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s experience supervising 10 associates/employees; OR 2 years’ general work
experience and 1 year’s experience supervising 10 associates/employees.
For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state specific requirements, I acknowledge that the position for which I am applying may require a
current state issued Certificate of Eligibility.
For facilities that sell firearms, I acknowledge that the position for which I am applying will require successful completion of a firearms- specific
Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open
Door trainings, etc.).
