Join our Fraud Technology organization as a Sr. Distinguished Data Scientist, where you’ll lead the intersection of fraud modeling, ML research, and governance. In this high-impact role, you’ll shape the future of intelligent and responsible fraud detection systems, driving innovation while ensuring model integrity, fairness, and compliance across the enterprise.
About Team:
The Fraud Technology team builds intelligent, end-to-end solutions that protect the customer journey from fraud and abuse. We combine advanced machine learning, real-time decisioning, and robust governance to stay ahead of evolving threats. Our cross-functional team collaborates with Data Science, ML Research, Engineering, and Product to deliver scalable, production-grade systems that are both effective and ethical.
What you will do
- Design and deliver high-performance ML models for fraud use cases including identity verification, payment risk, returns abuse, and synthetic accounts.
- Build hybrid decision systems that combine ML predictions with business logic for precision and control.
- Ensure models are optimized for both batch and real-time inference environments.
- Partner with engineering teams to define feature pipelines, scoring interfaces, and data contracts.
- Prototype and apply advanced ML techniques such as semi-supervised learning, agentic AI, continual learning, and anomaly detection.
- Collaborate with enterprise ML/AI research teams to translate foundational innovations into real-world fraud solutions.
- Identify and validate new fraud signals and data sources to expand detection coverage.
- Establish governance frameworks for fairness, explainability, documentation, alerting, and drift detection.
- Build dashboards and SQL-based analytics to monitor model health and detect anomalies.
- Lead responsible AI practices and advise cross-functional teams on model risk management.
- Serve as the technical authority for modeling within pod-based execution teams.
- Collaborate with Solutions Engineering to integrate model outputs into APIs, tools, and workflows.
- Partner with Platform & Tools to ensure infrastructure supports agile modeling, experimentation, and retraining.
- Guide QA and release validation for ML components and outputs.
- Mentor senior data scientists, researchers, and analysts across modeling and governance.
- Standardize model experimentation, evaluation, documentation, and deployment practices.
- Represent fraud technology in enterprise-wide forums on responsible AI and risk governance.
What you will bring
- Proven expertise in fraud modeling, ML research, and governance with a track record of delivering production-grade solutions.
- Deep knowledge of supervised, semi-supervised, and unsupervised learning, anomaly detection, and explainable AI.
- Experience designing hybrid decision systems that blend ML with business logic.
- Strong SQL and dashboarding skills for model monitoring and anomaly detection.
- Familiarity with agentic AI, continual learning, and emerging ML techniques.
- Demonstrated leadership in responsible AI practices and model risk management.
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and compliance teams.
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for mentoring and thought leadership.

The annual salary range for this position is $208,000.00-$416,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
