Position Summary...
We are seeking a results-driven Director, Data Enablement & Governance to deliver data outcomes that are aligned to business strategy and a data foundation to support the business’ transformation goals. This role will be responsible for developing capabilities, practices and processes that ensures the business can easily access, understand, trust and use the data, which will ultimately drive operational efficiencies, accelerate decision-making and support innovation whilst also addressing risk management and compliance. Additionally, this role will support the Senior Director Data Strategy & Governance in formulating an overarching data strategy for Walmart Claims Services, standing up a business-wide data governance program and leaning into AI initiatives.What you'll do...
Key Responsibilities
Data Enablement
- engage with business teams to understand strategic goals and connect to data-related outcomes
- work with business stakeholders and process owners to translate business objectives into data initiatives and data products
- partner with engineering and the data architect/modeler for the creation of a logical data model ensuring scalable data design
- partner with Product to define data product features, and align on acceptance criteria, and delivery timelines
- define data transformation rules, mappings, and logic to support data product development
- work closely with engineering to ensure the technical implementation meets business expectations
- provide ongoing support during development and UAT phases establishing appropriate feedback loops
- support the creation of semantic models for easy data consumption for reporting and adhoc analysis
- co-ordinate activities across Technology Operations and Data Analytics, Product and Engineering and act as a key communicator ensuring alignment
- assist business teams on matters related to data and identify and recommend opportunities for technology and process improvements in support of related workstreams
- ensure stakeholders are informed regarding progress, risks, and mitigation plans
Data Governance
- assist in implementing and operationalizing a business-wide data governance program
- establish a cadence and lead working groups with business data owners and stewards to advance the program
- ensure business assets including metrics and reports are appropriately cataloged and defined
- implement data quality management practices including measurement, monitoring and remediation
- collaborate with enterprise compliance and associated teams to manage data use, sharing and retention ensuring compliance with data governance policies and regulatory requirements
- work with Enterprise Data Strategy to communicate requirements for the continued development of the Enterprise Data Portal (EDP)
- collaborate with technical data stewards to define and maintain metadata, data dictionaries and to address the association of technical to business metrics
- lead training, awareness and communication to embed data governance the business day-to-day operations
Required Qualifications/Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in data transformation, business analysis, or data product development.
- Deep understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices.
- Strong SQL skills and familiarity with data platforms
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a large-scale enterprise environment, ideally within insurance and claims management
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum project methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Knowledge of data cataloging tools and data governance platforms.
- Exposure to BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
