What you'll do...

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an entrepreneurial leader to establish and scale our new Collectible Toys business on the Walmart Marketplace. Building on our foundational strength in the industry, you will have end-to-end ownership of this critical growth initiative. Operating with a founder's mindset, you will be responsible for defining the vision, building the team, and owning the financial outcomes to establish Walmart as a premier destination for collectors.

You will operate with the agility of a startup, testing new channels like live commerce, forging strategic partnerships, and creating immersive brand activations at events like Comic-Con, all while leveraging the unparalleled scale and resources of Walmart. If you have a passion for pop culture and a track record of building iconic businesses, this role is for you.

What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities

You will have full ownership of the category's success. Your work will be consolidated into four key pillars:

Strategic Leadership & P&L Ownership:

o Develop the end-to-end business strategy and vision for the Collectible Toys category.

o Own the full P&L, driving Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) and profitability through rigorous data analysis, forecasting, and annual/quarterly business planning.

o Architect the master assortment strategy, identifying and launching new sub-categories (e.g., vintage toys, board games, die-cast) to win the market.

Ecosystem & Partnership Development:

o Build the brand acquisition and growth playbook, forging relationships with iconic brands like LEGO and Mattel, and cult favorites like NECA and Bandai.

o Forge high-impact strategic partnerships with IP holders, studios, influencers, and major industry players.

o Develop a robust seller acquisition pipeline in partnership with Business Development, creating tailored growth strategies for brands, retailers, and SMBs.

Go-to-Market & Community Engagement:

o Partner with Marketing and Site Merchandising to create a best-in-class customer experience that speaks authentically to the collector community.

o Pioneer innovative growth channels, including social commerce, live-streaming, and experiential retail at major industry events and trade shows.

o Serve as the face of Walmart Collectibles, embedding yourself in the community to understand the pulse of the industry and build brand loyalty.

· Team & Cross-Functional Leadership:

o Recruit, hire, and mentor a world-class team of strategic account and growth managers.

o Champion your category vision across the organization, influencing product and engineering roadmaps to build new tools for sellers and collectors.

o Serve as the key thought leader, collaborating with Walmart's 1st-party merchandising teams to create a cohesive and dominant omni-channel strategy.

Who You Are: The Ideal Candidate Profile

We're looking for a builder, a strategist, and a leader.

· You're a proven business builder. You have a track record of taking ownership, delivering exceptional results, and managing a full P&L in a high-growth environment.

· You're obsessed with the customer and the seller. You are a relationship-driven leader who builds trust quickly and can craft strategies that benefit the entire ecosystem.

· You're a visionary who can execute. You think big, but also have a bias for action and the scrappiness to get things done in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

· You lead through influence. You are a superb communicator and storyteller who can inspire a team, manage executive stakeholders, and translate complex strategies to varied audiences.

· You thrive in ambiguity and are adept at creating structure and clarity where none exists.

· A genuine passion for toys, collectibles, and pop culture is a massive plus.

Preferred Qualifications

· 10+ years of experience in category management, business management, or strategic partnerships, preferably within e-commerce, tech, or a top-tier marketplace.

· 5+ years of direct people management experience with a proven ability to hire and develop high-performing teams.

· Demonstrated ability to develop and execute complex business strategies and roadmaps.

· Exceptional negotiation skills and executive presence.

· MBA or equivalent advanced degree is strongly preferred.
