Senior UX Design Technologist – Design Systems & Prototyping

Location: Bentonville, AR

What you'll do at Walmart

As a Senior Design Technologist on the Global People team, you’ll bring design to life through working code. You’ll help bridge the gap between product vision and execution—rapidly prototyping new experiences, scaling reusable components, and actively shaping our evolving design system. This role is perfect for someone who designs with a developer’s mindset and builds with a designer’s eye.

By innovating on the worlds biggest stage, you will have the chance to shape the future of the associate experience at the Fortune #1 company. If you are motivated by complex, purposeful challenges, being a Principal UX Designer, People Design at Walmart could be the fit youve been looking for.

You will:

  • Develop interactive prototypes that clarify direction, validate ideas, and accelerate learning.
  • Collaborate closely with product designers and engineers to ensure thoughtful execution of shared systems.
  • Contribute to our design system by designing, testing, and implementing accessible, reusable components.
  • Explore emerging patterns, including AI-enhanced interfaces and intelligent UI behaviors.
  • Grow your hybrid craft, learning from senior technologists while contributing meaningfully across teams.

You’ll sweep us off our feet if you have:

  • Proficiency in Figma and design tooling, with a strong understanding of interaction design principles.
  • Hands-on experience with React (or similar frameworks), with an eagerness to push your technical depth.
  • A knack for rapid prototyping and iterative development.
  • Curiosity about how systems scale—and how design and engineering scale them together.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with an appetite for cross-disciplinary work.

Bonus if you:

  • Have explored or prototyped AI-powered product features.
  • Are familiar with accessibility standards and component library governance.
  • Thrive in environments where speed and quality coexist.
