Position Summary...

The Director, Business Development – Trades SME requires being a subject matter expert in facilities maintenance, with strong technical knowledge in commercial refrigeration systems, HVAC, ventilation, dehumidification systems, and general maintenance trades such as plumbing, electrical, doors, docks, and food equipment. In addition to deep maintenance knowledge, this role involves driving sales growth and revenue for Walmart by establishing strategic partnerships, exploring new business prospects, and introducing inventive solutions in the facilities maintenance sector. The principal objective is to enhance Walmart's market standing through data-informed strategies and exceptional customer service.

What you'll do...

  • Provide expertise in facility maintenance, integrating knowledge into business development strategies to drive sales growth and revenue for Walmart.
  • Develop and execute data-driven business development strategies focused on the facilities maintenance sector, aligning with Walmart's strategic priorities.
  • Identify and assess new business opportunities, partnerships, and investments in facilities maintenance through data analysis and market research.
  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, suppliers, and industry leaders to enhance sales growth and revenue in facilities maintenance while prioritizing customer service excellence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create customer-centric go-to-market strategies in facilities maintenance, working closely with various departments within Walmart.
  • Support Walmart's Insource program by identifying and pursuing business opportunities aligned with program objectives in facilities maintenance, offering strategic guidance to the Insource team as needed.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs in facilities maintenance to drive growth and operational improvements, leveraging data for decision-making.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of business development initiatives in facilities maintenance.
  • Ensure all business activities adhere to Walmart's code of conduct and ethical standards, maintaining integrity in all interactions and decisions.

What you'll bring:

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in a field related to HVAC, refrigeration, or mechanical engineering is highly preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial refrigeration system design, installation, maintenance, and repair is required. Experience with Walmart's specific equipment and systems is a plus.
  • Certifications: A valid EPA Section 608 Technician certification, as well as any other relevant certifications such as HVACR, R-410A, or Commercial Refrigeration certifications.
  • HVAC and ventilation and dehumidification systems knowledge: Familiarity with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, as well as ventilation and dehumidification systems, including knowledge of their design, installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • General maintenance trades knowledge: Familiarity with general maintenance trades, including plumbing, electrical, doors, docks, and food equipment, including knowledge of their design, installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Technical knowledge: In-depth knowledge of commercial refrigeration systems, including but not limited to refrigeration cycles, evaporators, condensers, compressors, and control systems. Familiarity with Walmart's specific equipment and systems is a plus.
  • Troubleshooting skills: The ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues with commercial refrigeration systems, including electrical and mechanical failures.
  • Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders, including store managers, maintenance personnel, and vendors.
  • Attention to detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure compliance with Walmart's quality standards and safety protocols.
  • Preventative and predictive maintenance skills: The ability to perform preventative and predictive maintenance tasks, including inspections, cleaning, and repairs, to ensure optimal system performance and extend equipment life.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
