What you'll do at

Position Summary...

The Senior Manager Anti-Corruption (A/C) and Licenses & Permits (L&P) Compliance leads the execution of the Walmart Global Anti-Corruption and license & Permit Compliance Programs for Walmart Sourcing, including compliance with the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (the “FCPA”), any domestic anti-corruption laws and other applicable laws and regulations related to licenses and permits in the various jurisdictions.

Reporting to the Director Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption US and dotted line to the Global L&P Subject Matter Expert (SME), this role oversees Third-Party Intermediaries (TPI) procedures, Donation and Giving procedures, execution of the Global L&P program, among other related programs and processes.

What you'll do...

  • Coordinate and support implementation and execution of Walmart’s Global A/C Compliance program and Global L&P program; collaborate and communicate with Global A/C and Global L&P Compliance leadership regarding anti-corruption and licensing and permits related matters, achieving objectives and program status.
  • Develop and lead the strategic direction for A/C and L&P Compliance within Walmart Sourcing across its operations, to ensure compliance with the FCPA and country specific anti-corruption and licensing and permitting laws.
  • For both programs, partner with the business to understand the business strategies and priorities; allocate resources to market needs and timely support to business objectives.
  • Form collaborative relationships across other areas of Global Ethics and Compliance to better streamline how these groups serve the customer and others.
  • Serve as the main connection point for A/C and L&P questions and concerns with leadership and the business; develop strategies to ensure controls are integrated to business processes; oversee key internal and external initiatives that impact licensing and permitting (opposition, neighbor protests, etc.).
  • Oversee the execution and implementation of the requirements outlined in Walmart’s A/C Procedures and International Giving Procedures; oversee the due diligence and engagement process for TPIs; oversee execution of procedures and controls for donations and other giving activity; oversee execution of procedures and controls for other A/C-relevant transactions (e.g., Real Estate transactions, business expenditures, memberships).
  • Oversee the execution and implementation of all requirements outlined in Walmart’s Global L&P Policy and Procedures; lead the team in charge of procuring and maintaining all required real estate, construction, and operating licenses and permits in accordance to the local laws and regulations; overseye execution of all Global L&P requirements and controls.
  • Oversee and execute the A/C and L&P training and awareness program, ensuring that objectives are met relating to training, awareness, program innovations and effectiveness.
  • Evaluate and report on key performance metrics across both programs; timely addresses any metrics below expectations.
  • Assess risk, identify gaps, and coordinate remediation efforts in conjunction with Compliance and other business areas. Conduct risk assessments; partner with leadership for awareness and remediation efforts; address any ethical allegations for potential violations of A/C and L&P requirements.
  • Develop relations with the different monitoring functions across Finance, Ethics and Compliance, and Internal Audit to assess risk and remediate observations. Oversee the execution of the Market A/C Level II Monitoring and TPI Audits and engage in remediation efforts; oversee the development of the L&P reviews; discuss and remediate any Financial/Audit observations and procedural violations; understand the root cause for such non-compliance, identify sustainable solutions to mitigate risk and timely remediation.
  • Determine the impact of regulatory changes to the business, A/C and L&P, including leading the research and analysis of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Cultivate an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy.
