Position Summary...

The Walmart US Trade Compliance team oversees import and export compliance to minimize risks and ensure smooth entry of all direct import shipments into the United States. This pivotal role involves managing U.S. export shipments to multiple countries/markets. The Director will lead a team to implement solutions, leveraging management skills, problem-solving, and business analysis. Effective communication with senior management and detailed engagement across product management, operations, supply chain, and is essential.

What you'll do...

What you’ll bring:

• You have extensive expertise in export trade compliance.
• You possess in-depth expertise in the United States Schedule B.
• You have 5+ years of experience in global supply chain logistics, including, but not limited to, ocean and air freight. 
• You have prior work experience with freight forwarders, Customs brokers, 3rd party logistics providers, and trade compliance legal experts.
• You are a Licensed Customs Broker with extensive Customs clearance experience.
• You have keen understanding of Shipping Incoterms and how they apply to US exports.  
• You are natural at influencing others, leading teams, managing stakeholders, getting buy-in from leadership and cross-functional teams. 
• You are a self-starter with a strong attention to detail and an ability to deal with ambiguity. 
• You are adept in driving multiple projects with numerous stakeholders simultaneously. 
• You’re skilled at engaging and communicating with senior executives across multiple domains.  
• You’re organized, disciplined, and can bring structure to ambiguous problems. 

   

What you’ll do:

• Lead Export program – Directs the consistency of compliance and ethics in area of responsibility by responding to compliance questions and issues ; monitoring laws and regulations for specified area; directing research on laws, regulations, policies, and procedures ; drafting and updating policies and standard operating procedures with input from leadership; communicating information to associates; monitoring compliance and ethics questions for potential gaps; and recommending and developing strategies for identified compliance and ethics gaps.
• Lead product initiatives – Ensure critical business issues and core product strategies are addressed in product decisions; drive process changes based on feedback; drive resource allocation decisions; and set the standard for Product Manager deliverables.  
• Solve technical product problems – Dive deep to determine the root cause of the most challenging technical problems, work with multiple teams to engineer a solution and drive the execution of these improvements.   
• Build trust through operational excellence – Monitor technical operations across WFS-Walmart Fulfillment System aggressively investigate customer/seller facing issues, work with multiple stakeholders to resolve issues and implement exacting standards for technical performance across WFS.  
• Work cross-functionally and across multiple locations – Communication, collaboration, and organization are key to your success. Work with cross-functional teams to translate the product strategy into a product roadmap and engineering sprints.  
• Build – Take features from ideation / exploration with customers to full launch and rollout, including marketing plan and field enablement.  
• Move fast – Work in an agile and iterative team environment.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Minimum Qualifications...

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 5 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 7 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area. 3 years’ supervisory experience. 4 years’ experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.
