audit and regulatory inspection reports developing processes standards and policies to ensure quality of operations developing action plans to improve performance when necessary directing the development of communications in response to compliance concerns and consulting with and advising internal and external stakeholders on food safety Oversees the execution of Fresh merchandising strategy for the region to ensure its effectiveness by conducting club visits to monitor the operational progress from trainings reviewing operational reports soliciting feedback from the market teams for example Market Manager Regional General Managers identifying gaps to target with regional training high shrink school safety school and Market Manager development ensuring targeted training based on the regions needs developing strategies to attract train and retain a highly skilled Fresh operations workforce overseeing the onboarding and training and addressing non compliant clubs with Market Managers and Regional General Managers Creates strategies to grow market share in a complex region by evaluating competitors internal and external influences threats and industry trends creating plans to address competitive market situations and trends attending key industry functions and meetings providing feedback and solutions on Fresh strategic initiatives and partnering with regional and merchandising support teams to implement changes Oversees and drives Fresh area financial and operational performance for the region by collaborating with the region and market teams in the budgeting and reviewing process indexing key financial metrics for example key expense lines wages supplies maintenance repair evaluating and reacting to financial performance planning and communicating necessary operational changes addressing underperforming markets developing and executing strategies for item shortfalls and seasonal changes and delivering results of financial plans to the company Oversees the relationship with the thirdparty technical team for the region by setting longterm strategic direction defining how the Fresh technical programs for example meat and produce trainings should be built ensuring Fresh technical programs are aligned with Sams Club expectations and standards soliciting feedback on training programs from the field reviewing and analyzing feedback to determine the training programs effectiveness and working with the thirdparty technical team to modify training content based upon feedback and analysis Develops recommends and implements Fresh area operational enhancements for growing the business and reducing operating costs by analyzing business metrics and taking accountability for regional financial results evaluating and eliminating waste expenses and unnecessary work improving practices and policies identifying and implementing best practices influencing and leveraging the relationship with market and regional level teams for example Merchandising Membership Marketing the Regional Buying team Food Safety Compliance and Asset Protection teams developing the talent bench strength of the region promoting a memberfocused environment demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps recruiting selecting and developing talent supporting mentorship workforce development and succession planning and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices developing consequences for violations or noncompliance and supporting the Open Door Policy: Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives engaging key stakeholders in the development execution and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives and supporting associate efforts in these areas Manages Finances Demonstrates sound financial management skills including interpreting analyzing and explaining financial data and information Manages budgets and ensures budgets and financial performance are aligned with business strategic requirements Ensures assets liabilities revenues and operating expenses are accounted for and reported Complies with Company financial policies and procedures Compiles and evaluates financial data to ensure operating procedures meet business needs Monitors financial data and trends to identify and respond to market changes and other areas of opportunity Leads Inventory Flow Process Manages the inventory flow process for example onhand accuracy staffing managerial routines to ensure merchandise is replenished and instock Teaches effective inventory flow processes to unit leadership Collaborates with external partners for example Home Office replenishment buyers DSD suppliers on inventory replenishment processes Monitors and evaluates the facility to identify problems with inventory flow and signs of shrinkage and takes appropriate corrective action Drives Market Processes and Initiatives Partners with Associates at multiple levels of the organization to execute merchandising processes based on Club of the Community for example providing communityspecific input to drive product mix and quantities Seeks out integrates and acts on information and feedback from Associates on product changes for example product display signage pricing to maintain sales volume or address sales shortfalls Ensures processes in place for each Club in the Market are designed and executed in a manner consistent with Company strategies designed to build competitive advantage Develops action plans including training needs recruiting sources and cannibalization of other Stores to respond to changes resulting from new Club openings and remodels within the Market Accurately identifies StoresClubs and areas of high impact for example turnaround plans quality upgrades cost reductions capital investments and focuses resources and improvement efforts accordingly Manages Fresh Operations Demonstrates and communicates sound working knowledge of fresh products for example meat bakery cafe produce floral equipment and procedures Models and teaches managers how to ensure compliance with food safety sanitation and pest control guidelines based on federal state and local regulations and identify compliance issues ensuring their comprehensive understanding and application Identifies and responds to situations where associates and managers are not following the proper procedures and guidelines for producing packaging handling presenting and disposing of fresh products and provides training as needed Respect the individual: Builds The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00-$264,000.00
