Sam’s Club’s Member Access Platform (MAP) is seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Manager to lead and expand our API Partnerships. This role is pivotal in fostering relationships with technology partners, driving the adoption of our advertising APIs, and enhancing the overall partner ecosystem. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical acumen, business development expertise, and a passion for innovation in the retail media landscape.

Sam’s Club MAP is an ad tech startup inside one of the world’s largest and most successful companies—Walmart. We’re building a retail media and retail experience network, helping brands and advertisers engage Sam’s Club members at the right moment, using data on millions of transactions.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and Execute Partnership Strategies: Formulate and implement strategies to identify, onboard, and nurture API partners that align with Sam’s Club MAP’s objectives.
  • Manage Partner Relationships: Serve as the primary point of contact for API partners, ensuring mutual growth through joint business planning, co-marketing initiatives, and regular performance reviews.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Legal, and Operations teams to facilitate seamless integrations, address partner needs, and drive product enhancements based on partner feedback.
  • Drive Technical Integrations: Oversee the technical onboarding process, ensuring partners effectively integrate with our APIs and adhere to best practices.
  • Monitor and Report Performance: Establish KPIs for partner performance, track progress, and provide regular reports to internal stakeholders to inform strategic decisions.
  • Advocate for Partners: Represent partner interests within Sam’s Club MAP, ensuring their feedback influences product roadmaps and service improvements.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Experience: 7+ years in business development, partnerships, or related roles, preferably within digital advertising or retail media networks.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of APIs, with the ability to discuss technical integrations and troubleshoot issues in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to develop and execute partnership strategies that drive revenue and enhance product offerings.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building strong relationships with partners and internal teams.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data to assess partner performance and inform strategic decisions.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
