Position: Software Engineer III
Job Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086
Duties: Work on development phase cycles such as writing and developing code, performing unit testing, communicating status and issues to team members and with the product team, working with the project team and cross-functional teams, identifying areas of opportunity, interpreting information, design and architectural discussions, and coming up with a solution. Build React reusable components for display and sponsored ad products. Integrate data access libraries for ad units for CSR and SSR modules. Build React hooks to perform first-party and third-party measurements in JavaScript. Implement measurement specifications provided by vendors and work towards MRC accreditation. Work closely with the design team and iterate between development and UX. Implement ad-unit components to match the graph QL schema with the goal of not having any over- or under-fetching of data. Optimize CSS and JS to achieve optimal site speed metrics, ad revenue metrics, and business metrics. Work on the site-speed initiative by scaling server-side DFP proxy solutions and contributing to the unified ad library that powers Wal-Mart's entire display ad serving technology. Add new API endpoints to support new ad units on the NodeJS Ads API service. Debug and troubleshoot JavaScript and NodeJS software applications, analyze A/B test results, and gather customer feedback to identify and fix issues.
Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or a related field. Position does not require specific years of experience but requires listed skills.
Skills required: Experience using JavaScript, TypeScript, and ReactJS to build interactive and dynamic webpages and user interface (UI) components. Experience using REST APIs with JavaScript, TypeScript, and NodeJS services. Experience designing and developing responsive web and cross-browser development to make web pages look like mockups and behave properly on multiple browsers. Experience building UI components using Jest, Enzyme, React testing library, and MOCHA test suites to make sure code works efficiently and reliably. Experience working on JavaScript frameworks to maintain entire application state management and react frameworks and build storybook components. Experience creating API endpoints on NodeJS services that can be used to perform operations on specific resources. Experience developing, monitoring, and utilizing tooling software solutions including Grafana, Splunk, and MMS dashboards to improve real-time visibility on application status and proactively detect issues. Experience integrating software solutions with GraphQL orchestrator to fetch micro bundles and load asynchronous components to achieve page speed goals. Experience optimizing business logic to attain high throughput, auto-scale to match organic traffic patterns, and monitor SLAs for downstream services. Experience building NextJS application support on top of React to give the application better flexibility in data fetching and pre-rendering to the browser. Employer will accept any amount of professional experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $117,000/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
