Position Summary...
The 3D Team Aesthetic & Technical Director is a specialized role requiring a mastery of 3D creative capabilities. This position reports to the Head of 3D, and is on-site in San Bruno, CA. They will support the Walmart business, helping to drive online brand presence and consumer engagement, increase sales, decrease returns and delight the customer by creating next-gen image assets. Prior experience working in 3D-based content is not necessary, as this role will leverage their creative and design sense to direct the creation of the environments, textures, surfaces, and product types that will best render the most photorealistic tableaus, allowing these 3D-based images to reside alongside traditional photography and create a seamless experience for the Walmart shopper. Responsibilities:
- Provide 3D-specific Aesthetic & Technical Direction that brings to life the editorial campaigns and merchandising of products and services of Walmart.
Provide creative and technical direction on scenes, products, objects and environments, to be rendered in 3D.
Mentor the other members of the 3D creative team to further their knowledge of 3D capabilities
Partner with various clients from across the Walmart retail groups to fulfill their commerce goals.
Collaborate with our 3D Vendors to ensure your vision is being translated accurately to 3D.
Leverage curations provided by our merchants, source furniture and decor ideas from our existing products, as well as found objects and anything else you can imagine.
You will be responsible for every detail of the storytelling, functioning, in a 3D technical sense, as the set designer, lighting designer, photographer and interior designer.
Work within established brand look and feel requirements and deadlines.
Assist the Head of 3D with existing projects under development.
Bring a positive attitude and a willingness to roll with change.
Gather requirements and product priorities from merchandising and marketing.
Collaborate with merchandising and marketing teams to ensure alignment on the creative vision as it relates to product representation.
Partner with 3D Operations on 3D model requests.
QCs digital twins and 2D silo imagery as needed.
Requirements:
Minimum of five years as a next-gen commerce Art Director.
Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
Experience leveraging GenAI tools to enhance your ideation.
Expert knowledge of the facets of commercial image creation.
Working knowledge of 3D software tools and formats.
Experience from industries such as retail home furnishings, consumer electronics, beauty and fashion and the design trade.
Expertise in effectively communicating a brand’s look and feel with a proven ability to translate visual ideas and brand-level concepts.
The ability to present your creative work to a room full of people eager to hear your vision.
Comfortable with exercising initiative to identify and solve problems with drive, flexibility, and resourcefulness working independently or collaboratively with creative peers, support staff, and company executives.
Ability to be available across time zones, from EMEA, South America, Canada and the United States.

The annual salary range for this position is $108,000.00-$216,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
