Overview:

We are seeking a self-starting and experienced Associate Creative Director to spearhead design efforts across our private brand portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in brand development and design. This Associate Creative Director will be responsible for leading external agency partners and working with an internal team of brand designers to create timeless brand systems. The ideal candidate has experience designing brands in-house and with agencies using a blend of strong leadership and hands-on creative expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and drive the creative vision for private brand design, aligning with overall private label brand strategy and unique private brand business objectives. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership, marketing, production, and other key stakeholders to implement design systems that achieve broader business goals. 
    • Pursue ways that we can work better, faster.
    • Manage projects that are on-brief and polished, mitigating feedback, ultimately keeping workstreams on track.
    • Partner with Creative Account Management and Operations (CAMO) and Production to manage timelines and executions to concept breakthrough creative on schedule and on budget.
  • Private Brand Innovation: Oversee the creation of sustainable, cutting-edge design systems that reflect the private brand’s values, enhance market presence, and resonate with diverse audiences.
  • Project Oversight: Manage high-profile design projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Trend Awareness: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging design technologies including artificial intelligence, incorporating relevant trends into brand design strategies. Constantly seek new brands that enter the market across Grocery, General Merchandise, and Fashion. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, brand strategy, or a related field. 
  • 7+ years of experience in brand design.
  • Proven track record of creating successful brand identities. 
  • Exceptional portfolio showcasing design process and strategic thinking.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design tools and software including the Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Google Slides, and Figma. 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a creative team. 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment leading brand design work in-house or agency side.
  • Strong illustration skills and experience working in motion design are bonuses.
