What you'll do at

Position Summary...

The Senior Manager, Architecture will be a key player for ensuring quality service and quality construction documents by managing the delivery of architectural prototype documents. Someone in this role will also mentor, onboard and evaluate the Prototype Architectural Consultants, while also developing action plans for improvement. The successful candidate for this role will have strong design and coordination skills and will be able to clearly articulate the recommended design decisions and aptly defend those recommendations. The role is located in Bentonville, Arkansas and reports to the Director, Architecture.

What you'll do...

  • Manage and deliver architectural prototypes, specifications, guidance and intent of design

  • Organize and present change initiatives to executive leadership team

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gain alignment on design changes, implementation timing and costs associated with remodel change initiatives

  • Work diligently to provide support to key stakeholders on prototypical and non-prototypical designs

  • Support Walmart Architectural Consultant Collectives, developing action plans for improvement when necessary.

  • Evaluate prospective Architectural consultant’s potential for success in the Walmart Program

  • Negotiate and oversee Architectural budgets and invoices

  • Oversee implementation of approved change initiatives into prototype documents for use by our Architecture and Engineering consultants

  • Review Architectural & Engineering prototype documents to ensure compliance with the established design intent of approved initiatives

  • Continuously seek innovative and well-developed solutions to internal systems and processes

  • Rigorously evaluate current concepts and develop alternate low-cost solutions

  • Can set clear expectations and goals and helps internal and external teams to achieve targets.

  • Manage the safety, security and integrity of building designs, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state and local building codes, as well as applicable corporate compliance, food safety and asset management requirements.  

  • Develop and promote an environment of diversity and inclusion within the Architectural Collective and internal stakeholders.

  • Are a licensed professional with proven Revit understanding and delivery

  • Have broad experience developing and managing prototype documents

  • Model empathy, compassion and integrity while working with your internal and external partners, while maintaining a high level of accountability. 

  • Have strong design and coordination skills in the face of change, obstacles and adversity

  • Proactively build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to remove barriers in delivering customer/associate value, service and support

  • Encourage accountability to drive closure of changes, using effective time management to achieve commitments

  • Have personal organization to manage multiple assignments and competing priorities.

  • Can leverage relevant business metrics and data to measure, monitor and improve architectural consultant performance

  • Look beyond symptoms to determine the root cause and to identify and recommend applicable solutions

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00-$155,000.00
