The Lease Accountant will be responsible for managing all aspects of lease accounting, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, and providing accurate financial reporting. This role requires a strong understanding of lease accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
What you'll do...
- Lease Accounting Management: Oversee the accounting for leases in accordance with ASC 842 and IFRS 16 standards. Ensure accurate recording, classification, and reporting of lease transactions.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, disclosures, and footnotes related to lease accounting. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of lease-related financial information.
- Lease Data Management: Maintain and update the lease database, ensuring all lease agreements and modifications are accurately recorded. Perform regular reconciliations of lease data.
- Compliance and Audit: Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies related to lease accounting. Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in lease accounting procedures. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for lease accounting.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the real estate, legal, and procurement teams to ensure accurate lease data and resolve any lease-related issues. Provide guidance and support to other departments on lease accounting matters.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of lease-related budgets and forecasts. Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making.
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
- Fluent in Spanish
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in lease accounting or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of ASC 842 and IFRS 16 lease accounting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and lease management systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00-$155,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
