About the Team
We're rebuilding the backbone of our tech — moving away from a 25-year-old architecture and legacy systems to create something smarter and more agile. Our mission is to transform how we handle sourcing, procurement, and store operations, covering all global retail markets except China.
This is a high-impact engineering role where curiosity, problem-solving, and leadership are key. While the culture is deeply technical, we’re looking for someone who can balance tech expertise with people-first leadership. If you care about building great teams and solving tough problems, this might be the perfect role for you.
What You’ll Do
Lead large-scale, cross-functional projects from concept to delivery — oversee architecture, design, code quality, and on-time execution.
Manage a team of 10–20 engineers (including offshore), providing guidance, feedback, and mentorship.
Drive root cause analysis and prevent recurrence of critical business issues.
Collaborate with product, UX, and business partners to deliver innovative solutions.
Champion technical design and architectural best practices across distributed systems.
Lead proof-of-concepts and prototypes during project discovery phases.
Your Skills & Expertise
Core Areas:
Deep understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, scalability, and disaster recovery.
Strong experience in solution design, technical leadership, and coding across modern languages and platforms (JavaScript, Python, C#, AWS, Azure).
Hands-on experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and automation.
Proficiency in testing, defect management, and debugging tools.
Bonus Points For:
Experience building accessible products (WCAG 2.2 AA).
Knowledge of telemetry, performance monitoring, and security best practices.
Familiarity with modern tools like Jira, Selenium, Linx, Embold, or Monday.com.
Leadership Expectations
We’re looking for a servant leader who:
Builds high-performing teams where everyone feels they belong.
Communicates with clarity and empathy across functions.
Demonstrates integrity, humility, and a bias for action.
Drives excellence with a growth mindset — learns from feedback, failure, and success.
