What you'll do at

Position Summary...

Join the Walmart US (WMUS) Total Rewards team to be a key partner to our Total Rewards Consultants at the world’s largest retailer. The Senior Manager, People Data Analytics works as part of a team to enable market attractive rewards for our associates by providing critical market analytics, tools, and insights to guide compensation strategy.

This is a high-impact and high-visibility role within the organization with expectations to deliver immediate results. The ideal candidate has a demonstrated passion for working with data to illuminate complex problems in the People domain. Your ultimate goal is to use data to derive insights that help to guide business outcomes and build strong relationships with the teams you partner with.

About Team:
The Walmart US Total Rewards team partners with the business to drive compensation initiatives for the 1.5 million associates across our field facilities (stores, supply chain, health & wellness) and the home office. We strive to ensure that our associates’ rewards are market attractive and aligned with our Total Rewards guiding principles.

What you'll do...

  • Own significant portion of a portfolio of reports & dashboards used daily by associates across Walmart business.
  • Shape proactive decision making by providing insights into economic, labor and wage market trends.
  • Help shape a data-driven culture by highlighting emerging trends and demonstrating how data connects to the business partner’s context and objectives.
  • Ensure data visualizations focus the attention of business leaders on key issues and ultimately enable better and faster decision making.
  • Think beyond the immediate question by creating reusable data frameworks that can address multiple needs and accelerate progress.
  • Define modeling methods that combine data from a variety of sources into robust data models that can be mined for insights using human and machine techniques.
  • Collaborates directly with senior leaders across People Analytics and partner organizations to define the appropriate approach to analytics for each domain.
  • Presents insights and recommendations to senior audiences; has the ability to influence decisions impacting tens of thousands of associates and hundreds of millions of dollars.
  • Works within the team to build relevant skills and in the broader analytics community at Walmart, Inc to continually improve all aspects of our analytics & insights capability.


What you'll bring...

This individual is expected to possess a solid technical foundation while demonstrating the ability to embed methods and practices across a team level to help everyone deliver maximum value. Ideal candidate would:

  • Have experience designing, building and maintaining highly usable and insightful reports & dashboards in a leading visualization suite (Tableau, Power BI, Looker etc)
  • Have experience working with large datasets, finding insights, and telling stories using data.
  • Have some experience programming in Python, Google Big Query, and SQL.
  • Know how to contribute in a Scrum environment managed in Jira, Azure DevOps or other product management platform.
  • Be able to effectively communicate through data using clear and concise summaries.
  • Knowledge of People/HR domain is a plus.
  • Proficiency in AI tools and creating intelligent agents is a plus.
  • Positive can-do attitude and curiosity to learn.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Arts, Finance or related field and 4 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field. Option 2: Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field. Option 3: 6 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
1 year's supervisory experience.
