What you’ll do….  

The Senior Manager of Operations – Strategy is a critical and trusted leadership role as the strategic right-hand person to the Strategy Group Director at Walmart Connect. The Strategy team at Walmart Connect is responsible for defining the long term strategy for the US advertising business including ownership of strategy articulation to Walmart executives and Board of Directors, long range financial planning, new business definition, and business development or mergers and acquisitions that can help accelerate Walmart Connect’s goals. The team operates as an advisor to the Walmart Connect leadership team and also works closely with enterprise stakeholders in defining new opportunities for Walmart Connect as a growing new revenue business within Walmart.

The Senior Manager of Operations - Strategy will use strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills to assist with the daily operation of the strategy organization. The position will work vertically and horizontally with responsibilities that span high-level strategy down to planning and operations tasks. The person in this role will immediately impact our productivity, streamline strategic initiatives, oversee strategy program management and communicate objectives between departments.

The Senior Manager of Operations – Strategy will help set team strategy, develop cross-functional execution plans, identify success metrics and communicate progress against goals. The ideal candidate will have proven experience on executive-level advising, communications, project execution and key interdepartmental and cross functional collaboration. Ultimately, the primary function of this role is to ensure everything runs smoothly within the Strategy team and the Strategy team’s connectivity with other cross-functional teams. This is a fast-paced, think-on-your-feet position as you interact and build key relationships with business leaders across the organization.

The right candidate will define, drive and deliver effective business strategies to ensure the organization remains competitive, efficient, focused and energized. The role requires exceptional organizational, communication and leadership skills.

NOTE, this is a strategic contributor role.

Key Duties & Responsibilities….  

• Oversee strategic business initiatives from development through successful execution under the guidance of leadership and departmental heads and project manage team deliverables
• Review, design and execute improvements to organization structure. Drive organizational change as appropriate.
• Define and manage organizational strategy (annual and ongoing), objective, and roadmap for Strategy in collaboration with Group Director.
• Organize, track and evaluate the impact of our strategies and initiatives over time. Communicate project status to stakeholders and key project participants.
• Manage & facilitate Strategy team rhythm of the business (ex: leadership meetings & offsites, key leadership presentations, agendas, follow-ups, etc.).
• Drive strategy and manage in-year Associate engagement programming aimed to engage and retain best in class talent.
• Lead budget planning and financial management for Strategy organization to ensure pacing does not exceed annual budget allocation.
• Lead development, implementation and tracking of the Strategy workforce planning strategy in alignment with business objectives and priorities.
• Develop positioning and presentation slides about team objectives, processes, collaboration, etc. to ensure clear and effective communications across the organization.
• Lead cross-functional teams, influence outcomes and drive accountability to help ensure the organization is on path to hitting priority goals, objectives and metrics.
• Determine key performance indicators and how to measure team performance. Work with leadership to deliver, monitor and communicate progress towards goals.
• Continuously seek to improve processes and streamline collaboration across team members.
• Proactively address pressing business issues that need immediate attention.
• Communicate with effectiveness — grasp, structure and explain complex problems in easily digestible manner and provide thoughtful and sound recommendations.
• Build positive relationships across the organization at all levels to drive influence.

Preferred Qualifications…. 

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations, or related field and 5 years’ experience in operations, project management, or related area
• Relevant professional digital media experience required in advertising, operations, insights or chief of staff roles.

• Broad business experience driving execution and adoption of key strategic programs across large teams.
• Able to think and act creatively, championing and promoting new ideas that contribute to the goals of the organization and the department.
• Proven ability to develop and lead the implementation of communications strategy, policy and operational plans to a successful outcome.
• Comfortable holding team members accountable to project deadlines and identifying areas in need of support.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest level of discretion and confidentiality.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly independent environment and juggle multiple ongoing projects, responsibilities and relationships.
• Project management skills and experience.
• Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills.
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
