Intellectual Property Center of Expertise
Join the Intellectual Property Center of Expertise as a Senior Counsel, IP and AI. In this role, you will provide advice and counsel to teams across all of Walmart’s businesses. Specifically, you will partner cross-functionally with key business stakeholders as well as subject matter experts throughout Walmart’s legal and compliance organizations.

The position will be located in Bentonville, AR.

What you'll do...

Provide strategic advice and legal counsel related to Walmart’s use of artificial intelligence (AI); work with legal, compliance, and business stakeholders to find creative solutions for multifaceted projects, while maintaining an acceptable level of legal risk in a fast-paced environment. 

• Provide clear and actionable intellectual property legal counsel on risk analysis and mitigation strategies for teams looking to implement AI technologies within Walmart.

• Work with data privacy and compliance professionals to build and develop processes for AI review and AI policies and guidance across the Company.

• Monitor developments in the area of AI and IP law to update and maintain AI policies.

• Supporting teams in drafting and negotiating agreements with third parties related to the use of AI.

• Work with and supervising outside counsel.

• Train clients on IP and AI principles and corporate policies and procedures.

• Build and maintaining strong client relationships.

• Work collaboratively within Legal and with business partners to identify and execute creative and practical legal and business solutions.

• Advise IP stakeholders on trends and developments in IP and AI law.

What you’ll bring…  

• You are an IP generalist with experience in tech law.

• You have experience working with engineers, software developers, and business executives and can speak to each on their level.

• You have strong business acumen and the ability to exercise sound commercial as well as legal judgment.

• You are able to independently and concurrently support, prioritize, and manage a busy workload.

• You have demonstrated a bias towards action and innovation.

• You are a demonstrated team player.

The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00-$260,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...
