Job Description

The Senior Director of Food Product Compliance is responsible for mitigating risk and enabling regulatory compliance in Food space.  This is not a traditional Food Safety role, this role is focused on ensuring compliance and mitigating risk for Private Brands, National Brands, and third-party offers related to unsubstantiated claims, food packaging chemical regulations and other packaging requirements.  This role will lead a team responsible for working closing with the Walmart and Sam’s private brands teams to align our products with federal, state, and local requirements.  This leader will support the risk-based identification of areas of concern, development and execution of mitigation plans, and ongoing monitoring and improvement of compliance programs for these areas and subject matter areas that may be identified in the future. The role also liaises with subject matter experts in other geographies to share best practices and seek out common areas of focus and synergies. Reporting into the VP Product Safety and Consumer Protection Compliance, this role will partner with Food Safety, Product Development, Merchandising, Product Safety, Consumer Protection, WIC/SNAP Compliance, EHS Compliance, E-Commerce Compliance, Operations Compliance, Compliance Training, Corporate Affairs, Global Investigations, Legal, Operations, and Technology to programmatically mitigate risks and enable the business. The Senior Director will develop and implement strategies to ensure adherence to company standards of integrity and ethics while developing and leveraging internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals.

What you’ll do:

  • Working with our Compliance, Legal, Tech Teams, Operations and other stakeholders to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and maintain business continuity to enable business strategy

  • Cross functionally collaborates amongst stakeholders to support shared goals and solutioning

  • Developing, standardizing, and optimizing processes to create operational efficiencies across all covered subject matters

  • Working with our technology partners to build scalable products and tools to support automation and deployment of AI tools

  • Developing and implementing an overarching compliance monitoring program for product safety and consumer protection

  • Developing, mentoring, and providing opportunities for the Food Product Compliance team

The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00-$260,000.00

Minimum Qualifications...

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 5 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 7 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area. 4 years’ supervisory experience. 5 years’ experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.
