This role is part of the Real Estate Construction team and reports to the Senior Director, Construction. This role is based in Bentonville, Arkansas and can anticipate travel <5% of the time.  This Director will lead an estimating team that will grow over the next several months and will be focused on estimating the cost of projects in our Industrial spaces.

What you will do…

  • Provides cost guidance to senior leadership by analyzing construction costs and predicting costs based on construction industry trends and factors
  • Direct cost estimation for new capital facility concepts, investments, initiatives, and industrial asset projects. Create estimating processes, bid reconciliation, and ensure construction bids within budget. Support Real Estate leadership and stakeholders in determining project value
  • Drive company quality and compliance efforts by analyzing root causes of change orders; influencing adherence to quality and compliance initiatives; and identifying training needs for construction management
  • Mitigate cost of construction claims by reviewing scope of work documentation prior to bidding; overseeing the review of change orders and estimates; developing change order policies and procedures; revising contract for clarity, consistency, and best practices; ensuring estimating support in negotiations with general contractors (GCs); and providing recommendations on project design and methods to avoid risk of future claims
  • Direct external consultant oversight by overseeing the bid, project scope, and specifications for work processes; evaluating bid responses; making final consultant selection; providing guidance for quality control; and overseeing workload
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce. Diagnose capability gaps, recruit, select, and develop talent. Support mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning. Leverage the capabilities of new and existing talent.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or fields and 4 years' experience in architecture, construction management, engineering, or related field OR 7years’ experience in site development, building design, and construction management.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of supervisory experience
  • 5 years experience in construction (industrial) estimation.
  • Ability to clearly articulate concepts and ideas and exude executive presence
  • Strong at prioritizing and coordinating action plans with cross-functional teams, but also comfortable with shifting priorities
  • Strong analytical and deductive reasoning skills coupled with strong communication skills to disseminate information clearly to all audiences of all backgrounds
  • Proven experience in managing stakeholders and conflicting priorities

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
