What you'll do at

This position is responsible for the Regulatory Compliance Consumer Protection subject matter area under the Global Ecommerce Ethics and Compliance team. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or necessary. Develop the organizational vision and the strategic execution plan of the Ecommerce Consumer Protection area by performing industry and market analysis; defining processes, standards and metrics to implement controls and track performance communicating the organizational vision and strategic execution plan; developing decision making frameworks and communicating progress and measures of success to senior leadership and key internal stakeholders. Overseeing development and implementation of Regulatory Consumer Protection program for Ecommerce including best practices, processes and mitigation programs to prevent fraudulent, deceptive, and unfair business practices in the Walmart eCommerce marketplace; Leading strategic development of cross-functional initiatives to ensure regulatory compliance and the continued enhancement of consumer protection strategies; Supporting the Global team managing risk and maturity assessments for the Consumer Protection area of focus; Serving as the ecommerce compliance subject matter expert in area of focus, supporting local and international markets with ecommerce expertise related to Consumer Protection including best practices and initiatives, enabling business functions to meet business needs; Coordinating with business and engineering to ensure that new technology systems such as item setup and services address legal requirements (E.g. FCC, FTC, local State AGs and regulatory agencies); Develop and leverage internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives; engaging key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives; and supporting associate efforts in these areas. Cultivate an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy. Minimum Qualifications • JD or equivalent or bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Communications or related fields.  • 8 years’ experience in Legal or Regulatory Compliance teams. Experience implementing legal and compliance controls, including technology to enforce regulations and other legal requirements. • Working knowledge of US consumer protection related laws and regulations including regulatory agencies such as FCC, FTC, ATF and FDA. • 2 years’ experience in team management. Preferred Qualifications • e-commerce /internet or related expertise handling consumer protection practices (competition and/or trade experience is a plus) • International experience with consumer protection laws and regulations.
