What you'll do...

This role will lead a team of Data Scientists working on building solution for Supply chain and Merchandising domains supporting Walmart International's omni business. Key focus areas will be inventory demand forecasting, pricing, store and modular space and assortment optimization.  This position will collaborate closely with the engineering, product, and business teams to deliver generalized, accurate, and scalable models that can serve across markets.

About the Team:

Our team is focused on building forecasting and optimization models to estimate inventory demand and placement, replenishment across supply chain along with building last mile delivery solutions; make pricing, markdown and promotions recommendations; and build optimization models for assortments and space allocations in stores.

Focusing on customer, associate and business needs, this team works with Walmart International, which includes more than 5,200 retail units, operating in 23 countries such as Canada, Central America, Chile, China, India, Mexico and South Africa to name a few.

What you'll do:

• Planning, harmonizing, and following up on tasks and dependencies that are required to build, test, improve, and deliver scalable models in partnership with 4ITB teams.

• Mentoring and guiding less-experienced data scientists to build,  improve or scale data science models.

• Define the engineering requirements and align the development priorities with the engineering, product, and business teams.

• Connect frequently with US and market teams who are/will be users of the products and capture their requirements to reflect them in our roadmap and future releases.

• Present the current metrics and plans to improve them to business and technology leaders.

What you'll bring:

• 5+ years of experience in building large-scale retail demand forecasting, markdowns,etc.  models with deep learning and other ML models.

• Experience in leading a team of full-stack data scientists and delivering ML models to engineering team.

• Experience in building modular, re-usable, and scalable ML models and leveraging best practices in MLOps.

• 5+ Experience with SQL, Python, CPLex, and Cloud technologies such as GCP, Azure as well as with Spark, Hive and TensorFlow etc. 

• 5+ years of experience working in highly matrixed organization

• 5+ Years of experience in leading large teams of direct reports.

• Passionate to connect with business users to get more insights about customer and business demands.

• Superior communication, presentation and influencing skills

Option 2: Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 4 years' experience in an analytics related field.
Option 3: 8 years' experience in an analytics or related field
