The Sr Manger Automation Engineering – Computer Vision, will be part of a team which is responsible for the ideation, development, and implementation of state-of-the-art automated solutions with a first and best-to-market mindset focused on efficiency, safety, and capacity. This is a high-impact and high-visibility role within the organization, with expectations to deliver immediate and long-term results.

This role is part of the Walmart Grocery Innovation Automation Engineering team.  We are identifying, developing and realizing Walmart’s future Supply Chain automation strategy. 

What You’ll Do

A successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing computer vision and perception solutions using AI modules such as Object Tracking and Detection. You will support the development of machine algorithms that will understand and extract key information from imagery. Your work will be from Walmart’s cutting-edge Innovation Lab in Bentonville Arkansas and will be encouraged to stay up to date with new technologies as they emerge in the field of vision engineering via research, trade shows and networking. You will travel approximately 25% to various Distribution Centers to gather requirements, user feedback and support product testing and rollout.

What You’ll Bring

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS, Robotics, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar, or equivalent
  • At least 3-6+ years experience in designing and developing computer vision and perception systems
  • Ability to identify and research problems and come up with a working solution
  • Computer Programming Skills in Python, and C++
  • Computer Vision technologies such as OpenCV, Open3d, Pytorch, and TensorFlow
  • Experience developing software in a Linux environment, and using Docker

Preferred Qualifications

  • Robotics | Ability to communicate with various robots using non-native languages such as ROS
  • Expertise in motion planning, controls, point cloud processing
  • Strong sense of product ownership and customer engagement
  • Experience using SLAM and other mapping technologies
  • Hands-on knowledge of data structures and algorithms for point cloud processing and are familiar with ROS, and OpenCV
  • Work with sensor data (e.g., stereo-depth vision, and LiDAR)
  • Software Design, Simulation, and Emulation

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field and 4 years’ experience in Engineering, supply chain, or a related area. Option 2: 6
years’ experience in Engineering, supply chain, or a related area.
2 years’ supervisory experience.
