Manages annual budget activities by reviewing the preliminary budgets for Finance and support departments; reviewing preliminary budgets; providing recommendations to senior management for final budget approval of support departments; and presenting annual budget report presented to senior management. Oversees financial reports, balance sheet accounts, and financial audits for each assigned business area by reviewing financial data; reviewing research of balance sheet account variances; discussing business impacts to the profit and loss within accounting rules (for example, generally accepted accounting principles); ensuring audits are managed for timelines and accuracy; and facilitating the relationship between team, internal customers, and external specialists. Oversees accounting operations by researching emerging trends and standards of external governing bodies; utilizing knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting standards to perform financial statement analysis and accounting; identifying, correcting, and reporting discrepancies in financial statements and accounting transactions to ensure compliance with government reporting requirements and statutory filing procedures; and collaborating with external stakeholders to review and validate financial documentation. Manages the mitigation of company risk exposure by designing and developing financial-related systems, system enhancements, and processes; monitoring and improving controls environment; ensuring coordination between cross-divisional departments and internal and external auditors; and ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and generally accepted accounting principles. Advises strategic business initiatives by representing the controllership in cross-functional development projects; analyzing and reviewing detailed plans that involve systems, operations, reporting, and accounting; representing financial impact; and establishing solid internal controls. Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning. Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent. Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy. Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives; engaging key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives; and supporting associate efforts in these areas. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and 5 years’ experience in finance, accounting, or related area OR 7 years’ experience in finance, accounting, or related area. 2 years’ supervisory experience.
