Want to use your leadership and financial skills to help the company deliver on their key strategic goals and initiatives? Operations Finance is a critical thought-leadership role that works with the Sam’s Club executive team and cross functionally to help shape segment performance.  You’ll lead the operations team in development of short-term and long-term strategic financial planning and strategic initiatives.

We are a data driven, results-oriented finance team focused on partnering with senior leaders to influence decisions and drive outcomes to deliver shareholder value while helping our customers and members save money and live better.

You’ll make an impact by:

Managing Strategic Financial Plans – Overseeing the development of short-term and long-term strategic financial planning by partnering cross-functionally to assess overall goals.  Establishing and communicating information about financial targets; identifying and reporting risk levels determined for the overall financial plan; providing actionable insights

Forecasting – Overseeing weekly forecasting for the full P&L. Consolidating work from other teams at the segment and corporate level and presenting key weekly insights and forward looking trends. Partner with FP&A on the corporate segment forecast.

Leadership Reporting – Preparing monthly reporting materials for senior leadership. Partnering cross functionally to add insights and commentary that is actionable. Leading by influence to consolidate results from various operational business unit teams and identify themes for each month.

Communications and Presentations – Providing strategic input for business decisions by overseeing the production of complex financial models that incorporate assumptions, expectations, and known risks; prepare presentations and other supporting materials for recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and 5 years’ experience in accounting, finance, or relevant area OR 7 years’ experience in accounting, finance, or related area. 

  • 4+ years’ experience in Analytics, Planning, Business Management, Omni-Channel Merchandising, or a related area

  • 2 years of experience leading and completing cross-functional projects

  • 2 years of people leadership experience

  • 2 years of senior leadership decision support and influencing experience

  • Strong organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines

  • Strong influencing and interpersonal skills

  • Detail and results-oriented with sense of urgency
