Walmart Global Tech is looking to hire a Principal Technical Program Manager in Sunnyvale, California to drive and support initiatives within US Omni and eCommerce portfolio. This individual will lead all projects within but not limited to the Search and Personalization work stream to ensure on-budget, on-time and quality delivery of all committed features. The job will be to ensure continued successful performance of the work stream by managing and overseeing all initiatives, monitoring program and individual project progress; providing guidance regarding project methodologies and best practices; providing periodic project status reports and executive summaries to stakeholders and management; building and developing a team of strong project managers, ensuring their skills are aligned with established Project Management Organization (PMO) standards; and providing mentorship and guidance to peers and management on methodology and practice.

About Team: Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.


What you'll do:

  • You will be the owner and driver of complex, multi-disciplinary and multi-product technology projects using your techno-functional expertise for program delivery.
  • You will be responsible to ensure planning through deep discovery, scope and feature set of programs, understand and articulate detailed requirements with all stakeholders and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing schedules, identifying risk’s and dependencies, obtain cross team alignment, and clearly communicate them to project stakeholders.
  • You understand systems interdependencies and lead cross-functional teams towards technical solutions
  • You will be responsible communicating and explaining your program’s analysis, risks, issues, and recommendations to leadership, as well as explain the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.
  • You proactively and effectively communicate program statuses, identify potential risks and setbacks, and develop mitigation strategies
  • You are constantly striving to develop best practices in a changing and dynamic environment to ensure on time delivery. Ensuring program documents are complete, current and available for staff and leadership review
  • You actively drive and contribute to resource planning to ensure program success and drive internal process improvements across multiple teams and functions



What you'll bring:

  • A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, related fields or equivalent practical experience and 9+ years’ Cross-functional Program Management experience working among several groups such as: design, product management, engineering, and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage complex business problems in terms of people, processes, and technology to enable teams and deliver best-in-class products.
  • Able to exercise technical judgment to keep goals for programs, projects, and products realistic and attainable within a given timeline.
  • Strong communication skills that is succinct and tailored to stakeholders, team members and executives alike.
  • Prior experience with agile methodologies
  • You can conduct basic data analysis using such as tools SQL and Excel, and presenting the results in a graphical manner (charts, pivot tables)
  • Well organized in managing and tracking multiple workstreams. Able to multi-task effectively.
  • An ability to understand technical subjects and emerging technologies, and their relevance to the marketplace.
  • Agile methodologies experience
  • Experience working with technical teams with interest and the ability to learn other technical areas as needed.
  • Problem-solving and organizational experience across multiple teams.

The annual salary range for this position is $168,000.00-$252,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
