Manager II – Valuation & Modeling is a critical role within the Energy Transformation Organization that will design, improve, and maintain the Energy Transformation team’s valuation models across the portfolio of new and existing projectsYou will be a key member of the Business Strategy team that drives finance and operational activities of the Energy Transformation organization including forecasting & reporting, business planning, strategic assessments, project valuation, data analysis cross-functional coordination with technology and engineering partners, review of energy innovation opportunities, and works closely with the leadership team to set the strategic direction for the organization. 

The Walmart Energy Transformation team is a newly reimagined energy team that was created to ensure the team has the resources and internal positioning to deliver on Walmart’s energy-related regenerative goalsThe team now reports directly to the COO of Walmart US and the Chief Sustainability Officer.  

This new organization is responsible for: 

Ensuring energy security and reliability through purchasing energy and optimizing for the lowest cost in regulated and wholesale markets. Building value enhancing clean energy businesses around our unique asset base. Meeting our renewable’s goal of 100% renewables by 2030. Increasing the energy efficiency and reducing emissions across our facilities, and Meeting our 2040 Zero Emissions goal, including transitioning our fleet to zero emissions vehicles.

What you’ll bring…  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and experience in accounting, finance, or relevant area

  • Strong financial modeling and valuation toolkit through work experiences and curriculum 

  • Interest to learn about the energy sector and transformation strategies 

  • Experience with cross-functional projects 

  • Strong organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines 

  • Strong influencing and interpersonal skills 

  • You have a great eye for detail and can articulate points in a simplistic approach 

  • You make complex subjects easily understood through visuals 

  • Work collaboratively with business partners and corporate support teams to drive strategy execution for high priority, high profile initiatives, owning development and reporting of key financial KPIs to ensure total company objectivity and maximize customer experience and shareholder return 

  • Youre stimulated by challenges and are ready to engage at Fortune 1 scale 

  • Detail and results-oriented with sense of urgency 

  • Expert with Excel, PowerPoint and facile with other Office suite products 


You’ll make an impact by…

  • Analyzing capital projects and concepts by collecting internal and external data; validate financial models; utilize business metrics and statistics; support in evaluation projects; conduct post-audits; identify areas for improvement.  

  • Analyze financial and market performance information. 

  • Support in the development of strategic capital plans by compiling results of financial analyses; support in development of strategic capital presentations. 

  • Provides input for business decisions by producing complex financial models that incorporate assumptions, expectations, and known risks; preparing presentations and other supporting materials for recommendations; participating in business case presentations to senior and executive management; and communicating forecasts, assumptions, and variances to senior management. 

  • Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. 

  • Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy.  

  • Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00-$139,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.

Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:

- Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)

- Stock equity incentives
