Walmart’s Indirect Tax Team plays a critical role in the company’s ability to navigate the complex landscape of indirect taxation, ensuring compliance and maximizing profitability. This dedicated team of experts possesses a deep understanding of the numerous indirect tax laws and regulations, including sales and use tax, and value-added taxes that vary across jurisdictions. Their experience allows them to proactively identify potential risks and opportunities, while also staying ahead of ever-changing tax legislation. By maintaining a strong partnership with various business teams, the Indirect Tax Team support Walmart’s continued growth and expansion, ultimately contributing to the company’s mission of saving people money and helping them live better.
About the role:
As a Senior Manager II, Indirect Tax Accounting, you will leverage your expertise in Sales, Use, and Property Tax, as well as your accounting experience, to oversee account reconciliations for all indirect tax accounts. You will create leadership reporting dashboards and lead forecasting efforts for the indirect tax team, ensuring accurate and timely reporting. In addition, you will support SOX reporting and partner with controllership, treasury, and finance Organizations to streamline processes and enhance collaboration.
What you’ll be doing…
- Oversee account reconciliations for all indirect tax accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Create leadership reporting dashboards to provide real-time insights and drive strategic decision making
- Lead forecasting efforts for the indirect tax team, enabling accurate budgeting and planning
- Support SOX reporting and maintain strong internal controls
- Collaborate with key partners across the controllership, treasury, and finance organization to achieve shared goals
- Standardize processes for accounting functions in Indirect Tax, leveraging technology to drive efficiency and scalability
- Oversee bank account reconciliations for ta accounts, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Manage payment request processes, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements
- Support Indirect Tax during close, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
You’ll sweep us of our feet if…
- You have extensive experience in Sales, Use, and Property Tax, as well as general accounting
- You are proficient in technology, including SAP, Power BI, and Microsoft Office
- You have strong leadership and communication skills
