VISUAL OPERATIONS MANAGER

As Visual Operations Manager you will play a key role in developing Visual talent in the field through: 

  • Creating execution and training tools.

  • Developing field-facing visual merchandising workshops/trainings and HO and in-store routines.

  • Driving alignment and collaboration with Store Ops and VM while championing diversity and inclusion.

You will enable Visual Merchandisers to successfully lead through store transformation and various marketing initiatives while delivering communication plans focused on team member and customer experience.  You are accountable to contributing to the delivery of high quality, clear, and inspiring communication.  

Ideal candidates will be able to lead through ambiguity, foster connectivity across the cross-functional team, educate and promote Walmart visual merchandising as an essential function and be ready to roll-up their sleeves.

This role will be based out of our Bentonville, AR location.  We’re moving toward 3 days in the office per week, with flexibility. 

You will make an impact by: 

  • Developing visual standards, guides and training tools to strengthen in-store execution and drive Walmart brand integrity.

  • Consistently communicating with field teams to gather feedback to develop and train visual standards.

  • Consulting with key business partners (e.g., Store Operations, Retail Brand Experience) to understand presentation and marketing strategies to better support in-store Visual Merchandisers and Field Leaders.

  • Leading training sessions with in-store Visual Merchandisers to drive seasonal goals and establish routines.

  • Implementing seasonal execution priorities, contingency plans, brand launches and other marketing initiatives.

  • Providing and archiving quarterly team hindsighting.

  • Partnering with regional and store teams to successfully plan and execute presentations while adhering to Visual Standards and Marketing strategies.

  • Partnering with Home Office stakeholders to achieve visual merchandising operational objectives by coordinating merchandising plans, action plans, and fixture updates.

  • You are always one step ahead and can quickly identify opportunities with Home Office process and store execution before they arise.

  • You can effectively stretch across multiple functions (styling, merchandising, innovation, guest insights, store operations etc.) to support the broader team.

  • You have the aptitude for building strong partnerships, presenting to and influencing across all levels. 

  • You operate with customer and store team centricity at the forefront. 

  • You lead with an open mind to evolve the ways we work and achieve our business goals — always asking questions, challenging the status quo, championing diverse points of view, and applying new/different ways of thinking.

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • 4-year college degree in Communication, Visual Merchandising, Marketing, or related field and/or equivalent work experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in Communications, Marketing, Merchandising or equivalent experience.

  • Proven ability to effectively coach, build skillsets, and develop diverse and inclusive teams.

  • Comfortable self-motivating, self-directing and building process and solutions when not defined.

  • Strong, quick and thorough problem-solving skills within fast paced environments.

  • Possess strong organization and prioritization skills while remaining agile and calm under pressure.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites.

  • Preferred experience in Adobe Creative.

  • Experience with Big Box Retailer a plus
